A lot of times the reason the ice maker is not working is 1 of 2 things. First I would check the water filter if the fridge has one, and make sure it is new, or replace it if it has been over 3 months (depending on the fridge and filter, could last longer). If you replace the filter and the ice maker is still not working, be sure to check the water line going into the fridge, if it is a plastic line (soft to the touch) make sure to squeeze it ever so gently to see if water is flowing through the line properly. If so then, you may need to turn the water off to the fridge and disconnect the water line from the fridge to see if it is clogged, if so it could be clogged with calcium deposits, if not then the mechanism for the ice maker it's self could have gone out and needs replaced. This all depends as well on how old the fridge is. If the ice maker has a metal bar, be sure it is in the proper position to make ice, a lot of times they get broken and need replaced.
