No Ice. Replaced 4 solenoid water inlet valves. Icemaker spins around, but no water comes up. Any ideas?? Bruce

Follow the water source line on the back of the refrigerator to the shutoffvalve on the water supply. Turn the shutoff valve counterclockwise to open itfully. Inspect the water source line for kinks. Straighten the line to removekinks.Confirm water flows to solenoid one end. And also check freezer door is closed as it will sense solenoid to open to water flow into ice maker. Sometimes, water flow might be plugged by frosting. Check freezer setting temp 5 degree. Thanks.

Model #GSH25JSTCSS---Not getting any water from the water dispenser but still have ice coming out---What's the problem?

I have this same model and problem. The water line may be frozen inside the freezer door. (the line enters at the bottom hinge area of the freezer door)

Shut the unit off and leave the freezer door open ( you will need to remove your stuff you want to save first)

Next disconnect the line coming out of the Freezer door near the bottom hinge (should be a quick disconnect coupler, you will need to remove the front air grill assy to allow access to the line/coupler) and lay the line out on the floor.

After thawing the water should run out the line leaving a small puddle on the floor. Reconnect the line, plug the unit back in and test your dispenser.

Although this method restored my water dispenser to working condition, other possible causes for this include the line freezing up in the refridgerator section, bad water valve, bad relay on the motherboard, that triggers the water valve, bad motherboard. Hope this helps.

My frost free freezer is icing up on the bottom of the freezer. Occasionally find water on floor No

If the ice is clear and frozen on the floor of the freezer the defrost drain line may be plugged causing the water to over flow the
drain trough and leak into the bottom frezer compartment.

This will require a service tech. to remove the rear panel inside the freezer and find the reason for the blockage of the drain line.
ie....
Mold or slime in drain line
Debirs covering the drain inlet hole
Out of spec defrost heater.

If the ice is fluffly like snow then the freezer door may not be sealing properaly.
With the freezer door closed check the door gasket all the way around the freezer door.
If a gap is seen on one side the freezer door may be misaligned.
To realign freezer door remove all ice with a hair dryer.
Soak up all moisture on the metal rails and inside the freezer.
Pull freezer door all the way out unitll it stops serveral times.
This may realign the freezer door.
If not the door slide rails,Track or Roller gears may need to be replaced.

I've got a GE side by side refrigerator that's approx.7 years old. This past weekend, I resolved the problem of not getting water out of the cold water dispenser. After replacing the two-way water solenoid...

Check around the door gasket to see if gasket pulls off or is it held on by screws if there are screws you can separate the door and insulate the tube if no screws than replacing the door is the only repair.

Can't get water at the dispenser on a GE sxs

GSS25QMFC I beleive is manufactured by GE. The line could definitely be frozen. 99% of refrigerators you cannot get into the doors. They are glued together and filled with spray in insulation. There is no easy way to do it. You can try a hair dryer or just let the fridge sit for 24 hours turned off with the doors open. Another place to check for a freeze up is in the rear of the refrig section. Most refrigerators run the line in the refrigerator to chill the water and if your refrig section gets too cold they can freeze in there. Most of the time refrigerators have a disconnect in the water line at the bottom corner of the freezer door where it goes through the hinge. You might have to yank off the lower grill to see it, but you can sometimes disconnect it there and let water run out. Good Luck

Purchased a GE Profile bottom freezer April 08. Has indoor water dispenser. Changed the water filter 60 days ago. Since then the amount of cold water dispensed has slowly decreased to a trickle. There...

Disconnect the water line where it comes out of the water inlet valve and see how the flow is when you try the dispenser. Disconntct the water line at the bottom of the freezer door where it goes into the door. If it flows good here it may be freezing in the door. Open the door till it thaws.
If it's good at the inlet valve and slow at the door, some models have a way to put a plug in and bypass the filter.

GE GSH22SGRE - water dispenser not working but ice cube maker working fine

I fixed mine by leaving the light on the dispenser on. It took about 6 hrs, but the little heat from the light bulb was enough to defrost the water line.

No Water At the Door

I use an old style "pipe cleaner" soaked in very hot water and pushed up the tube at the door. The blockage is usually about 3-4 inches up the tube where it freezes. The hot water on the pipe cleaner takes only a minute or so to soften the plug enough for it to push through. Re-heat the pipe cleaner in the hot water often so it melts quicker. The ice plug is typically about 1 inch long in that small tube so it doesn't take much to get the water flowing again.

No water thru door

Sounds like the door area heater is not working and the tube is freezing up in the door near the dispensor. Try turning off the unit for a day with the door open to see if it suddenly starts working again. That would lead you to believing it was a freeze plug. Rarely does the line kink in the door.
