Check shelving and stock in door not stopping door closing. Check hinges tight and complete (sometimes have a self limitting plastic stopper that breaks, allowing weight of door to pull itself open)

It would be nice to know the model number. Check the switch on the door frame to be sure that it is not damaged or missing. Unplug the unit for a minute and then plug it back in.
two things to look at : water level sensor ? seems I once had a machine that the water inlet valve never totally shut off and it overfilled basin this shut machine off on a spill sensor fault but took several minutes to do this , Also the door closed switch , seems they do get finicky as time goes on and even thought door stays closed the movement of machine opens the door switch up (not the door) this also takes several minutes to occur
I was having this problem. I thought the door catch was damaged but looked it up online and saw that it was intact. I was just about to call the repairman when I took another look and found that the rubber seal around the door was not properly seated. Duh! Almost cost me $100+ and lots of humiliation.
