SOURCE: i have a crappy HP
It's acting like the juice is drained in the battery. Are you sure it's charged? Do you have a spare battery you can swap out?
Some of them come with two. I actually have the same series laptop (a Pavilion dv6258se, 6000 series), and they can be a little flaky.
I also had an issue where my HP power cable (that connects the laptop to the wall outlet) was faulty, and needed to be replaced, because it stopped charging the battery. I ended up purchasing a generic replacement power cable on eBay.

SOURCE: direct receiver is not responding to remote
if you go to: http://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/global/contentPageIF.jsp?assetId=P4380052#h:1020.450
it has different remote codes. you would have to select "satellite setop box" also you need the model # of the receiver which can be found (normally) behind a door on the front panel of the receiver on a sticker (where the access card and reset button are) if its not a directv receiver, (hughes, etc) then it would probably be on the back of the receiver you would see a sticker with the model # of this receiver.
the first code should be 00001 follow the instructions on how to program on that website.

You may need to press a button on the bottom of the keyboard or on the reciever portion to get it to reconnect. It will be a very small button, probably about an eighth of an inch, that appears level with the surface surrounding it. Use a straightened paper clip or ball point pen to press it. A pencil contains lead that could cause an electrical short between contacts, so don't use a pencil.
