What is the mormal temperature swing of a Refrigerator?

What you call temperature swing, is hysteresis. For a refrigerator it only is allowed a few degrees. 1 or 2 up and down. A swing from 32 to 45 is far to big. Unless the factory can prove they advertise these figures. I would never buy a frig like that.
I would contact the dealer and ask him / her to replace the thermostat and if that is not possible to bring another refrigerator.

Something is really wrong with yours.

I need to change the water filter in my samsung srs618dp fridge freezer. I have the filter but cannot locate the internal part in the fridge i need to change.

For Samsung side-by-side refrigerators, there are two possible locations. One is in the upper right hand corner of the refrigerator. The other is behind the veggie drawer.

To access the filter, either remove the top glass shelf or the vegetable bin. Turn off the water to the refrigerator. If no filter is currently in use, remove the cap. If a filter is in use, remove the old filter. Turn clockwise to remove the old filter. Save the cap to reinstall if the fridge is ever used without the filter. Note the date when you put in the new filter and place the sticker on the filter. Remove the red cap from the new filter and align the unlock mark with the filter mark on the filter housing in the refrigerator. (Looks like an unlocked padlock with the u part turned 180 degrees from the rest of the lock). Turn the new filter counter-clockwise 90 degrees until the lock symbol (closed padlock) lines up with the mark on the housing. Use steady firm pressure - it will be hard to turn. This ensures a tight seal. Turn on the water line and check for leaks. If the filter isn't leaking replace the shelf or the vegetable drawer.

Samsung support for the SRS618dp is here: http://www.samsung.com/au/support/detail/supportPrdDetail.do?menu=SP00&prd_ia_cd=2201&prd_mdl_cd=RS23DENS1%2FRAD&prd_mdl_name=SRS618DP&srchword=SRS618DP .

I hope this helps.

I have a General Electric auto pilotless ignition oven, model# jgcc58 eh5ad. when I turn on the bottom oven the igniter glows but the flames dont ignite. Can this be fixed by a modern igniter as this stove...

www.a-1appliance.com
FOR 45 YEARS OLD IF YOU HAVEN'T HAD ANY OTHER TROUBLES REPLACE THE IGNIGHTER AND YOU SHOULD BE IN GOOD SHAPE. A NEW IGNITER RUNS AROUND 75-80 DOLLERS.
THE IGNITER HAS TO GET HOT ENOUGH TO OPEN THE GAS VALVE, IF THE IGNITER IS FAILING OR WEAK THE OVEN WILL NOT LITE.

Leaking water sitting on bottom shelf of frig.In

Good day,
The problem you have is the defrost system is barely able to get the job done. This has been done for some time to improve the energy efficiency of newer machines.
You will need to remove the rear panel in the freezer compartment and totally defrost the drainage system. It takes time to allow everything to melt down and dry out. Rushing it will only cause the problem to reoccur in a short time.

To help in the future, there are 2 possibilities. Some models of your machine are making an aux heater to aid in keeping the drain from freezing up. Check with a good appliance parts house, not Sears.

The second thing you can do is replace the defrost thermostat that is mounted on the top of the cooling coil. It's a small 1" round disk with 2 wires connected to it.

The original may be 45,50,55,60 or 70 degrees. Whatever it is replace it with the next higher temperature rating. For example, if it's 50 degrees, replace with a 55 degrees ect. Helps a lot.
This replacement thermostat is not a sears or Whirlpool part. You need to buy the tstat as a G.E. product.
The part number is WR50X50, WR50X55 ect. The last 2 numbers are the temperature.

Fridge and freezer warm at top, colder but not normal on lower shelves

How old is this frig? If it is older that 12-15 years, get a new one. Make sure there is not blockage to keep the air from circulating properly. The vent from the freezer to the cooler should also be free from blockage as well.
