The " and @ keys are reversed. I am using the shift key.

Function keys on many laptops are used as the secondary set and the individual functions of the keys have been shifted to the primary functions. Thus, if you press F1 and things are normal, you would get some kind of "help" But if, as in many laptops, the functions of those "F" keys has been reversed you might get an Internet key, a brightness key, some kind of CD opening key, or whatever the manufacture decided. F2, as another instance, is used to trigger "edit" of the current item....but in many laptops pressing F2 just turns off your wireless signal or dims the screen slightly. In those cases the way to access the expected Fkey functions is to hole the Fn key down (at the bottom left of the keyboard) then press the desired F key. Personally I find it nuts to have reversed an PC age old way but I'm not in charge of keeping people happy so it's not happening.

My guess is the ignition needs to be replaced. check to see if theres a recall for it. 2 years ago on my 2002 alero I found a recall for the flasher switch which was causing intermediate directionals and 2 more for the computer

Hello there,. I got some dough to put down on this one.

First, I'm assuming, maybe a long stretch here -- Do you have a lot of weight (numerous keys or other) on the key chain which you use in your ignition??

If this is the case, you most likely have a worn ignition switch that crapped out.

If not, then you have a real good question where I'd like to see some more details -- how was the car running before on start up, # miles? what about the transmission shift linkage - is it worn? is it on the steering column? have you tested the shifting lever switch inside to see if it crapped out? Did you try to work the gears back and forth to test the switch?

Get a new keyboard

You have 2 Shift keys on the keyboard. If the other shift key is working then the shift key that is not working is defective. You should consider replacing the keyboard on your laptop. There is no setting on Windows that can disable the shift key.

**Note : If both Shift keys are not working, Try to check if sticky keys feature on windows is on. Sticky keys should be disabled. To disable sticky keys, Click on start and Go into control panel > Accessibility Options, and under keyboard there is sticky keys. Remove the tick and click apply and OK.



**If "Use Sticky Keys" is unchecked, that means sticky keys is disabled.

Holding down both shift keys at the same time wont work. Chances are you have a dead key. use the other shift key instead. if a program is mapped to use specifically that shift key, remap it to the opposite one.

If you are using a desktop, replace the keyboard; if it is a laptop replace it if you can yourself, otherwise, call a computer technician.

I have a Dodge Charger 06 model and the gear wont move from Park to reverse. everything else works as far as gas, brake light, etc but my gear wont shift can i get soem help
