Click Right mouse button on Computer

Click on Disk Management
In the Right Panel of the drive you wish to fix
Click Delete Volume
When Volume is deleted

Follow the steps
For small drives use Fat32 not NTFS

SOURCE: PNY 4 G USB DISK IS WRITE PROTECTED

Not sure what exactly is happening when you try to use the disk. Is it a used disk? Did you just purchase it? Do you get an error when trying to use it?

From the limited information, I would suggest going to the website and seeing if there is a solution from PNY: http://www2.pny.com/support/support_landing_cat.aspx?SectionID=1143 (their support page).

If it still doesn't work, post more details & I'll see if I can help.

Have a good day!

SOURCE: Deleted files from my PNY 4GB flash drive are still taking up space.

Most flash drive comes with its on date support files on it. If those had not been removed then, yes it will show some space used.

SOURCE: Cannot remove write-protect from PNY 4gb usb2 memory stick

If you are attempting to remove the software that was preloaded on the drive, simply reformat it.
remember to copy any data that you have written to the thumb drive before attempting the reformat.

Hi,

The problem might be that the card is password protected, i recommend you switch it to the unlocked position and then use a computer to format the memory card and do a full format not the quick format.

Take the card back to the retail store, and get a replacement for this "defective" card.

Or, get a technician at the retail store demonstrate that he/she can read the card.

Windows says not enough space on pny 8 gig flash drive

Try formatting the drive as NTFS instead of FAT32 (assuming you are using it only on Windows computers). FAT32 doesn't support files over 4GB.
