SOURCE: Generac 6500 1988 in R.V.Southwind Two things,

See if there is an oil pressure guage on the dash. When you start the machine it probably has a low oil pressure shutdown which shuts the engine off when you release the start button. This is an interlock. Watch the oil guage and keep the start button engaged until you see oil pressure, release the button and it will continue to run at that point. Your second issue may be a function of the choke. If you are having to choke the engine to start, you may have to play with the choke position to keep from overfueling the unit which may cause it to stall and possibly backfire as it has to much fuel to be burned on the compression stroke, and is igniting occasionally on the intake stroke. Hope this helps. Marvin

Check your air filter, if clean chances are your carburetor needs to be rebuilt. the carburetor has thin diapragms that get hard and won't meter the fuel in fast enough.

Dryer starts for 10 sec and then stops, has an burn smell it runs great Although when it stops it won't restart until a few mins later. Then the same over again. Its a loud noise when going for 10 sec

It sounds like it's overheating.
Find and clean the filter.
The noise might be something caught between the drum and the mechanism. A bra underwire is common if your female (anonymous)?)
Check with a good torch...
If you rotate the drum and it squeaks it's something jammed or maybe the bearing.

My 2008 dodge grand caravan just started giving me problems when I go to start it. (colder weather) When I first try ti start it, it wants to start but it won't then next time it will start for 1/2 a sec...

Have someone check your fuel pump pressure....also your fuel pressure regulator.

A clogged fuel filter could restrict fuel flow enough to cause a low pressure condition. Once you have gotten it to run a bit, the pressure will build up and hold for subsequent re-starts.

Out of curiosity, how long can you let it sit shut off and still have it start normally. 1 or 2 hours? Longer? Overnight?

Washing machine wil not fill - tries several times then stops and all lights except 4 go out

That would be the balance switch, should be located rear right under the main board. over time the switch becomes jamed in the on position and the machine always thinks its off balance. $4 to $10 for a new one.
