So the other day my sister was washing clothes and she found plastic shrapnel in the clothes that she washed. She called my dad over to look at the washer. He found that there is a plastic piece in front of the drum that is "eroding" or "breaking down". Now he wants to replace the plastic piece ourselves that way we don't have to pay for a tech to do it for us. Where can we find this plastic piece? SPECIFICALLY how do we replace this piece? In addition whenever we wash a regular load of clothes, we hear a racket of noise during the spin cycle. What is the racket that's making the drum make that noise. I realized that when I spin the drum myself I can hear a metallic squeak then a clunk. Do you know what this problem is? Can it be a bad bearing or something else?
There can be a loose bearing between the drum and the outer wall of the machine but, there is definitely something loose. I know that this is not what you would like to hear but, the best advice anyone can give you is have your machine looked at by a specialist. Moreover, going to your washing machine retail store, should have the equipment you are looking for, or you can search for it online and compare prices.
