When I choose my home wifi to connect to it connects for about 2 seconds and then immediately switches back to 4g. Ive tried forgetting the network (which is hard to do in that 2 seconds but I have done it) but it still will not stay connected after doing that. Ive also shut down phone and taken out and reinserted the battery but still no fix. This problem seems to have started after I upgraded to kit kat.
Samsung Galaxy S4: WiFi will not stay connected to router:
Hello:
Try these troubleshooting tips:
1. If this is happening at home, it could be your network setup is having issues, turn off your router/modem, wait 2 minutes, and then turn the router back on.. wait for the router to connect and then try again..
OR
2. Go to:
Settings > WiFi > (remove your network & then re-add it, don't forget you need your WiFi password in order to log back in)
OR
3. Go to:
Settings > Connections (Network Connections) > More Networks > turn on Airplane Mode > wait a few seconds and then turn off Airplane Mode
OR
4. Go to:
Settings > My Device > Turn Power Saving Mode Off
.
Open your wifi on the phone and press and hold the wifi network that you want to connect to then click (modify) re-enter the security code for the wifi network again and then connect. If that does not work then the wifi signal is weak and you'll need to get closer to your router.
Another thing is to choose United States for your Wifi Region in the wifi advanced settings menu.
-- uncheck (avoid poor connections)
-- check scanning always available
-- Wifi Region Code (select United States)
I hope that helps
Go into settings > Wireless networks. Find your network. Press and hold until you get a menu. Select "Forget Network". Then try and re-authenticate to it.

Hi,
The basic is:
1. On your home screen, click on the bottom right "menu" button.
2. Got to the 1st screen , where the little gear icon for "settings" is at the bottom right corner. Open "Settings"
3. Click on "application settings"
4. Click on "Browser profiles"
5. In this screen you'll find all your connections, including the Wifi connection you created.
6. If you click on the red double arrow beside the connection, you can edit the details.
Enjoy :)
