How do I turn off the close caption on a Broksonic TV/DVD Combo without the remote

  • Anonymous Jun 13, 2009

Thank you Simon. Just note that I fiddled around with it for quite some time and finally realized that if you hold down both the volume up and volume down buttons for a while, that the volume settings reset, including turning off the close caption setting.

Lost remote and are now using a remote for Comcast digital signal. Not sure how to put on closed captioned?

On some sets if you press Up and Down Channel buttons you can get to the Menu.

You can also buy a new remote control:

How do i get the closed captioning off?

You should be able to do that with your remote. Just look for the `caption' or `c.c.` button and try using it again. You may have to push it several times to completely turn it off as it may cycle through the different types of captioning systems before reaching the `off' setting.
If you don't see it on the front of the remote, you may have a remote with a second compartment and the keypad may flip or slide open to allow you access to the additional buttons.

Closed Caption may only come on when you have the television muted.
