Ice is in the tray but it won't dump into the bin and continue. This is the 3rd time it's happened and I have no idea how I fixed it the first 2 times. Water works fine, filter is good. No other issues.
Your heater finally went out in your ice maker it will have to be replaced it would be easier just to replace the entire ice maker assembly which it a ten minute fix.

Tener, sounds like you have a module going bad. Pull off the white cover of the ice maker and take a look at the center white gear. There should be two clips securing the gear on. A lot of times these clips break and cause the gear not to rotate properly. Part number for the module is 628399. Take a look at this first. Catriver..post back

your refrig has a built in bypass in the filter housing so yes it will work with out a filter in place. if you have not replaced your filter in the last 6 months that is likely the problem. Hollow cubes are usually a sign of not enough water getting into the icemaker then it cycles too fast and harvests hollow cubes.
when the hollow cubes fall into your bucket they bust and put water in with your cubes freezing them together. so by solving your water supply problem you'll solve most of your icemaking issues..

There are as you can imagine many possible causes for you no ice condition. I will give you the most common problem for the year model you have. I hope this helps you.
You will need to remove the ice maker from the freezer compartment to check it. Once it is repaired if the following information does help, and you reinstall the ice maker, it should go through a cycle automatically within an hour of your reinstalling it in the freezer compartment.
Once you have the ice maker out of the freezer compartment you will need to remove the white cover on the end of the ice maker and look at the center of the large white gear. If the part inside the hole in the center of the gear is broken or looks twisted, you will need to replaced the module. The module is the part that has the large white gear and is held in the ice maker by 3 phillips head screws. It only comes as an assembly. You can't get just the little broken piece.

I'm not sure in your case if its better to order a new ice maker or if you want to take it apart and change the thermostat or possibly the limit switches.
