We have the same machine which had the same problem, there is no filter only a colection pot at the bottom of the machine. Unfortunately even cleaning this did not solve ours, in the end I had to strip the machine down, split the drum down and then flush the brown crud which had accumulated behind the steel inner drum. Ta da problem solved!. Probably not what you'd want to do if you were not confident in attempting it but it saves buying a new machine.
