Installation cd boot problem

sometime there are an option in the BIOS setting to boot directly on HDD when there are a OS installed try to invert primary and secondary controller (invert HDD and CD-ROM wire on the motherboard)

Windows 7 installer is not a CD it is a DVD installer. Cd drive can not read a dvdrom (dvdr or dvdr/w). You must have DVDrom drive to install the windows 7 installer. Here is the video tutorial on how to install windows 7 have a nice a day!

Hi, you haven't said for what operating system, but for XP. First you will need to change your primary boot device to CD Rom, to do this boot into BIOS by pressing the F1 key during initial boot fase, save changes after boot device has been selected, insert windows CD into drive and reboot. Select boot from CD, which appears during initial boot fase. Allow files to be installed, once finished you will need to delete operating system and repartition hard drive, then format hard drive. Once this completes PC will reboot, ignor boot from CD and allow PC to boot normally and it will start to install XP.

Restart you computer then hit F2 for Boot Bios Setting then GO TO Advance. Change the SATA Mode . ACHE. ot IDE. or Comfatibility.. then enable the F12 boot. make in enable. the hit F10 for save and exit...

Insert you cd os Installer then hit F12 for **** menu. select the CDROOM for boot....

to install OS in laptop,its like to install OS to PC.
1.Set up Bios <with pres key "Delete" or "F1" or "F2">Booting Priority (chose Boot from CD/DVD Room).
2.Save and exit (with pres "F10")
3.Wait until text > "Pres any key for Boot from CD/DVD..." you pres any key before the text disapear.
4.and follow the instruction...

Press the "delete" key when you put it on then you bios will come on then you can the do to "chipset features" or "booting" option and change your first boot divice to your cd rom or pressthe F9 button to get a direct boot option(this works in certain pc's)

1. Insert the CD in the CD drive and boot up the laptop. Press F12 and select the CD as the temporary boot up device.
If you cannot get the CD to boot up with the CD, then you need to go to the BIOS configuration the change the boot order so that the CD is the first boot device (you can change it back to the hard drive later when you finish installing Windows)

2. Follow the screen instructions to install Windows. I suggest you get a computer friend to help you.

If you have the media (Windows XP CD) you should insert it int othe CD drive then check the BIOS for the boot order and make sure CD is first in the list or when booting up select F12 or whichever function key it may be on your pc to bring up the boot device order and select cd. This should then bring up a prompt that says boot from CD hit enter to do so. It will then boot into hte Windows installation which you can follow through.

Check the following:

1 make sure that the cdrom is okay. if not sure then try cleaning the cdrom lense which can be found in the cd tray,

2 make sure that the cd disc you are trying is a bootable one

When you first start the machine, you need to go into the boot menu and boot from CD drive, or go into bios/utilities set up and set the boot order to boot from CD first. Make sure your XP CD is in the drive, then just follow the prompts.
