If you allowed the phone to "expire", then contact customer service and they will reactivate your number and even add in the $15 worth of minutes to your account for you.

• Uses 800MHz and 1900MHz spectrums primarily (bands 26 and 25), and 2.5 GHz for Sprint Spark (band 41)
• Does allow devices to be used on selected Sprint resellers such as Ting
• Phones will not work with Verizon
• LTE devices and iPhones may work with GSM networks, although service possibly limited
• Still not an 'unlock friendly' carrier

Sprint has recently launched a 'Bring Your Own Device' campaign for selected MVNOs (smaller wireless providers who operate on its network).
This means that some (not all) Sprint devices will be able to be used on either Ting or Boost Mobile (unfortunately, Sprint's prepaid MVNO, Virgin Mobile, doesn't accept phones from any other carrier - you'll have to buy a Virgin Mobile handset to sign up for service).
Outside of carriers on the Sprint network, taking your Sprint phone to Verizon Wireless is more or less impossible. We've heard of people trying, but so far no success stories.
If you wish to take a Sprint device to T-Mobile or AT&T, you may be able to do so with LTE-capable devices and Apple iPhones...but there are no guarantees. Some handsets sold by Sprint are marked as 'global' phones, meaning they are also have room for a SIM card despite running on Sprint's CDMA network.
As confusing as it is, if you can get your Sprint phone unlocked, there is a chance you can have it activated for service on a GSM network - but you'll need to speak with your new carrier and ask whether they'll accept the make and model of your handset.
Even if you do get the all-clear, getting your phone unlocked is the tricky part. While Sprint are happy to unlock phones for international use (provided the device is paid off and the customer's account is in good standing), the company isn't as enthusiastic about unlocking devices when customers wish to take them to another carrier. And if you do manage to get your Sprint phone unlocked and find a carrier that agrees to let you bring it on to their network, it's unlikely that the phone will work in quite the same way as it did on Sprint, due to the differences in carrier networks we've discussed above.

The Motorola SLVR is a handset that focuses on media offerings, being one of the few non-Apple phones that features iTunes support. Although the Motorola SLVR has been available on GSM networks in the past, it is only sold through CDMA networks, such as Sprint PCS, US Cellular and Cricket Wireless. Unlike GSM phones, CDMA phones don't require unlock codes to take them to other networks. Instead, unlocking a CDMA phone involves removing the old software and installing software for its new network. The removal of the old software and installation of the new software is called flashing.

1. • 1 Browse your new mobile company's store finder for a store in your area that performs handset flashing services.
     
   • 2 Take your Motorola SLVR into the store you located in Step 1. Explain that you currently use another mobile company but would like to switch to their mobile company. Allow the representative to install the new software onto the Motorola SLVR and then activate the phone to their network.
     
   • 3 Pay the fees the new mobile company charges for activating and flashing services. Pricing can vary depending on the mobile company.
     
   • 4 Contact your old mobile company to cancel your service contract. Be prepared to pay any fees associated with early cancellation or past-due accounts.

a carrier is your service provider for mobile phones (examples are virgin mobile, at&t, t mobile, verizon, sprint, cricket, etisalat and etc...) if you don't know your provider/carrier, you can find out by looking at the screen of your phone, the name of the provider is either at the center of the screen, at the top left or right near the notifications tool bar, at the bottom (depending on your settings)
once you already know your carrier, here are your options on how to contact them:
1. if you have a sim card, the customer service number of your service provider is usually saved there and you call/dial that number using your handyphone or landline.
2. or here are some customer service numbers for you: at&t: 1-800-331-0500 or 611 from your wireless phone sprint: Call *2 (from your sprint mobile phone) or 888-211-4727 (Sprint phones) or 800-639-6111 (Nextel phones) t-mobile: Get in touch, free of charge: Just dial 611 from your T-Mobile phone or call 1-877-453-1304. You wouldn't be able to use Boost, but maybe Virgin Mobile. Boost uses iDen, formally Nextel technology. Virgin Mobile uses CDMA or Sprint's. Here's how to do it: Go here: https://www1.virginmobileusa.com/activate/activate.do?page=0
Follow the instructions and select the Samsung Intercept as the phone model. Enter the ESN and you should be good.

You will hafta wait till they open tomorow, the only way to activiate a phone is via their phone # or in store. I looked pretty hard for an online activation page but there dosent seem to be any, you could try 8009225159 from another phone as well.

You need to have the phone activated again through your service provider.
