Kdl freeze and reboot on extra channels

KDL40Ex700 freezes and reboots on "extra subscription channels". Reboot is never complete, ie: can not hear the proper "click" coming from within the TV. Only way to give a proper reboot is to wait 5-10 minutes with TV off or use the hard switch on the side. Getting bonkers, can't watch shows without having to wait for a restart of the telly every 5 minutes. Does not happen with standard diital channels or peripherals such as PS3, PC, etc

Do a reset to this TV, and then check. There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Service mode entry, adjust and exit procedure to many popular brand TVs are given. Never forget to exit the service mode, after all adjustments have been done.

SOURCE: TV freezes when switching to a digital channel

Issue was with the HD channels only.
Updated the firmware of the TV to ver 2.

Now the TV will stutter for a second when changing to a HD channel but it no longer locks up.

SOURCE: TV freezes when switching to a digital channel

The problem your describing can be contributed to your cable box. Depending on your cable company there are times when the box has trouble translating the signal to the tv. You tv is operating normally. Suggest to the cable company to switch your box.

SOURCE: BLUE HAZE

This is not a light engine problem as stated above. It is an expensive repair. $650 to $1000 for the part depending on the model of your TV plus $300 for labor. The problem with blue haze is well known on all Sony LCD TV's made after 2003. The part that is defective is called the "Optical Block". I have the same problem on my TV that started yesterday. Here's the link to repair it yourself. Best advice, junk the TV and buy another. Not worth doing a $1200 repair on a unit that costs the same as a brand new one these days.

Hope this helps. Remember, this repair is time consuming and complex. Good Luck.

It can be as simple as the unsteady DC in the power supply or failing main logic board. Look at the power supply first since you may be able to spot bad DC filter caps (caps can look OK but may have high ESR which you will need special cap meter to find out).

HOW DO I UNDER FREZZER MY KINDLE

Hold the power switch for 20 seconds. Slide the power switch and hold it in place for 20 to 30 seconds before releasing it.
  • You need to physically hold the power switch in its off position for this long. Doing so tells your device to "reboot," in essence, instead of merely shutting down.
  • The reboot screen should appear as soon as you release the power switch.

Give the Kindle time to reboot. The Kindle will reboot within a minute or two. Be patient and give your device ample time to finish its reset.
  • There is some possibility that the Kindle will freeze as it reboots. This may be the case if your Kindle stays frozen on the reboot screen for more than ten minutes.
Charge the Kindle. If the device freezes during the reboot or does not respond to the reset at all, plug the charger in and allow your Kindle to charge for 30 minutes or more.
  • Make sure that your Kindle has enough time to complete a full charge.

Hold the power switch down again. After you finish charging the Kindle, slide the power switch and hold it down for another 20 seconds.
  • The reboot screen should appear again. Give the device a minute or two to reboot before checking it again. This should complete the reset.

The picture on some channels freezes or distorts or the picture and talking are out of scinc. some channels are fine.

If you haven't already tried rebooting the receiver, unplug the receiver for 10 seconds (make sure all lights are out on the receiver) and plug back in. This will cause the receiver to reboot and reacquire the satellite signal. After it completes this process, it will take you back to the channel you were on. See if you are still having problems.

If this doesn't fix the problem, you may need a new receiver. I hope this helps.
