2011 electronic battleship computer keeps saying "red reporting" during set up and we cant get it to except any coordinates. whats the problem?

Instructions explain Com tower card.

The Com Tower card if drawn is to be positioned face up and another card is drawn. If you or your opponent collects all 4 Com Tower cards before the other, a special power is earned; all hits are instant sinks for the rest of the game! This means if you hit a ship the player must call our all remaining coordinates of that ship and the ship is sunk instantly.

All of the manuals have the deployment formations. The first two games are very similar in the game setup and play. The two older (Talking and Non-talking) versions also share most of their game play.

Hi there... not sure which version of the game you have... but I was told.... If you want to enter for example.... b6... you first push B.... and then the buttons automatically change to numbers... then push F.. which is the 6th letter....
or c4 would be c.... and the d.. (the fourth letter)...
Hope this helps... just got the answer now... so gonna try it myself...
