Uline beverage fridge loose door handle.

I have a Uline 1175RS beverage fridge with a loose door handle. There is no obvious way to access the bolts which are on the interior of the door. How do I gain access to the bolts to tighten the handle?

  • Katherine Guy Jun 18, 2020

I know this is old but our 1175rs has a stainless handle and it has set screws in it to hold it on the door (hard to see but they are there)

There is indeed a simple solution if you are at all handy with a drill.
1) simply remove the rubber "weatherstrip" from the inside of the door.
2) pick your largest drill bit and from the inside drill through the black plastic EXACTLY opposite the door handle bracket. Make sure you line up north south and east west.
3) what you will uncover is a small Phillips head screw. Tighten and your handle will be tight.
4) replace black rubber "weatherstripping" and you are done. EASY!

Hi
You are right. The only way to repair this is by replacing the complete door assembly. If under a year it should be covered.

Handles loose on Frigidaire fridge doors

Jeff, If you can not see any visible screws, look for molded removable trim caps on the handle, remove and tighten screws. If no trim caps then your handle is probably mounted to fridge with screws in slotted slide, which get slid off by pulling straight up on handle, normally takes a lot of force to slide up and out. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

We have a 3 month old fridge and the handle is coming away from the fridge. There is a bolt under the handle which suits a 4mm allen key, but it does not seem to do anything if you tighten or loosten it. ...

The bolt on the handle tightens on a pin that comes through the door. If the tightening the screw on the handle and it still does not tighten then the pin has come loose inside the door. If the unit is only 3 months old I suggest contacting who you bought it from. It should be under warranty.

The fridge door dropped

Probably a loose or lost bolt connected to main body with a pin that supports the door. Usually the fridge has top and bottom pin hinges for adjustment so the bottom one must the problem. Look around for bolt/screw on the ground. If can't find it you will need to buy one to match from hardware (unscrew matching bolt/screw from other side and match). You may need a short handle screwdriver if space is limited or carefully have someone tilt the fridge to get access -MUST place a wood of block under so it doesn't fall squashing your hand when working under . Use small mirror placed underneath to see where the bolt/screw goes. Replace fittings and adjust height of door so it seals.

Change doors of fridge freezer from right opening to left opening needless to say cannot find instructions after 10 years

tilt unit backwards, and under hinge side you will see a bracket, undo bolts and transfer to opposite side leaving loose, slide door down ,then on top of door transfer plug to opposite side(if needed)slide door back up and refit bottom hinges/tighten bolts.
handle is just a matter of prising plastic cover of and unscrewing, then refitting to other side.
once you tip it backward its pretty obvious really.

Outside door handle

I had this happen as well on the rear doors, and on both sides now. The door panel is easy to remove, the problem is accessing the bolt nearest the rear of the vehicle because the entire locking/door latch mechanism is in the way. At the factory the door handle was obviously installed through that hole first before the locking mechanism/latch went in.

To remove the door panel, pop out the two plugs pieces in the pull handle, then unscrew the screws there. There is another screw in the opener handle of the door and two more around the edge of the plastic frame (one on side, one on bottom). Once loose disconnect the handle by un-clipping the plastic pieces from the metal rods. Then pull the door loose my going around the edges and popping out the plastic retainers. The electrical connection is easily unplugged so you can remove the panel completely to get it out of the way.

Fisher Paykel fridge door handle loose

Yes hello, I had the same problem - similar fridge model.  Mine was the fridge (not freezer) door handle ie. the upper door.  There are no small holes on the bottom of my fridge handle.  Working from the outer door edge, I gently prized loose the plastic trim located under the door.  I didn't take it completely off, just loosened about one quarter of the length, enough to flex the trim downward so that I could then access the phillips head screw that secures the fridge handle from the inside of the door.  The trim will prevent you from using a conventional screw driver to tighten the screw.  I used a screw driver bit which is only 25mm long.  It has an hexagonal end to which I applied a small spanner and voila - the handle is once more secure.  Good luck.

Thanks you for asking for my assistance.
Let me clarify, the entire handle assembly is moving on the outside of the door when you open it; it is real loose? If so, there are two 10 millimeter bolts that hold the handle in place. Yes, you do have to pull off the door panel to access the handle bolts. I can give you the panel removal proceedure if you need it.
