SOURCE: I have a 2 1/2 ton unit. If the outside

If properly charged your unit should perform fine, having a dirty condensor at that temperature can cause problems not easily recognized.

A well insulated house should be able to maintain a 20 degree temperature difference whether its summer
or winter. No Mechanical cooling or heating involved
for at least 6-8hrs if not more.

If it never cools when it is 95 degrees outside the ambient outside temperature is not the problem.
At 95 degree out side air you should be seeing inside discharge air temperatures betwenn 48-55 degrees.

It is the load in the house that determines how long the unit will run at 95 degress.

Can I buy a new inside unit for a MS24WN outside unit

EPA regulations: Freon 22 units are no longer available, Units that are compatible are available They come pre charged with nitrogen It must be dumped. If there is freon in the old system it should be pumped down into the condenser unit before the inside unit is removed, Close the high side king valve and run the unit until the low pressure reads near O Close the low pressure king valve. and turn unit off. 410A freon units are readily available. Most if not all 2 ton air handlers will work with any outside 2 ton unit though some building codes will not allow a mix. Their reason: if something fails who is to blame:

Vw sharan loud whistling from front of car

Theres many holes on the fire wall for the wires to come through from the engine to behind the dashboard, one could be missing the rubber around it or one could be missing, also you may likely have a leak on your windshield, you can get some black silicone and patch it with it, same for the dashboard.

What evap coil can be efficiently used with a 10 seer rheem raka-024jaz condenser

Hello, if the outside condenser is 2 ton than the inside evap coil should be 2 ton aswell. There are 12,000 btu's per ton and the number 024 in the model # represents btu's per ton so you have a 2 ton unit.

Can I mix brands/tons when installing AC unit to existing coils?

First off - the 'rule of thumb' is 600' per ton of Air Conditioning. In other words your old unit is a 2 ton unit. So - 2 tons x 600' = 1200'. As you can see if you install the 2.5 ton unit - you will be installing a AC that 'could' cool a 1500 sq ft house (2.5 x 600' =1500 sq ft.). Slightly more than what you need; and the 3.5 ton unit is 'way to big,' (3.5 x 600' = 2100 sq ft.).

Note: fyi - many in the AC business will sometimes refer to tonnage in btu's, i.e. 1 ton = 12000 btu - hence a '2 ton unit' can also be referred to as a 24000 btu unit and vice versa.

So... from the above - you can easily see that "2 tons" of Air conditioning is what is required to cool the 'average' home of 1100 sq ft. "roughly speaking."

Note: it is always best to have a professional 'size' your cooling/heating needs.

One of your questions was could you 'mix tonnage?'

The answer is 'usually you don't mix the tonnage of your outside/inside units.' However, professionals sometimes do (mix the tonnage) in certain situations, and installing a 2.5 ton outside unit with an existing 2 ton inside unit is often done, however, there are some 'tech issues' here and - I would "again" recommend that you call a Service Tech to help you with the sizing/mixing of your cooling/heating needs.

hope this has helped

We have a brand new 5 ton ac unit the part that goes outside how we got it is a long story but a good one but we need to but the other half that goes in the celing and idea how much this should cost me and...

This is called an "A" coil. You need a 5 ton "A" coil to match your outside unit, give or take 1/2 ton. The cost will vary greatly depending on the make of your unit.

Size

Greetings jdreisbaugh,

The tonnage is usually found on the name plate on the condensing unit outside. 12000 btu = 1 ton, 24000 = 2 ton and so forth. In your case the unit is 36000 btu, therefore a 3 ton.

I hope this helps!
