IhaveaSHARP-N-EZY chainsaw sharpener[G712]Granberg for myozito 1800w chainsaw. The only instructions is a 1 page pamphletwith 8 instructiion The problem is that they are not very detailed instructions.

There are much simpler devices on the market, the Husqvarna roller gauge is really good and easy to use, if any device is hard to use it generally doesn't get used.

How do I use the dsc407us sharpener?

all chainsaws have angle cutting tips. my advice to you is to buy a 1/8" round file and do it manually. depending on how much of the cutting tip you have left, usually a few strokes per tooth should be enough. hope this helps.

Are you able to sharpen a chiansaw by hand?

It is very possible to sharpen a chainsaw by hand, but you want to be very careful because even a dull chainsaw can do a lot of damage!

Looking for instructions for McCulloch File-N-Joint chainsaw sharpener, part no 61034

Please start here. I have dialed this number many times looking for an OM (Contact Us - All McCulloch Products 1 (800) 521-8559) and have yet to get a satisfactory response.

Granberg International
http://www.granberg.com/contact.html
This is probably the real manufacturer. I would request instructions for their unit. It is in the "File Guides and Holders" category.

They also call it a "File-N-Joint" pn G106B. HTH

I need to know the right angle to sharpen my chainsaw

If your saw still has the original bar and chain, it was supplied with a .325" pitch chain and you'll need a 3/8" round file with a sharpening guide to properly sharpen it.

Here's a link to the Husqvarna site to the Rancher 455 models so you can select the correct manual to download, that matches your particular saw, based on the year of manufacture, etc.

There is some excellent information about maintaining your saw, along with a really good guide with step-by-step instructions for proper sharpening.

http://www.husqvarna.com/us/homeowner/support/download-manuals/?query=455&types=O

If you're having trouble figuring out the right manual for your saw, use the online Customer Support page and they'll reply.

Hope you find this Very Helpful - Best regards!

Chainsaw sharpening

Sharpening your chain can be done easily, Make sure you have the correct file for your chain, Most common is 5/32, Unless you have a massive chainsaw then it may be a 7/32 file.

First place the chainsaw on a nice level surface to avoid any slippage. Next you'll want to hold the file in the groove of the cutting tooth and make 3-4 strokes of the same length inside the cutting tooth (the silver part). Make sure to do the exact same amount of strokes to each tooth.

You'll notice you can only do one "side" of the chain at a time, then you'll have to spin you chainsaw around to get the teeth that face the other way.
