Make sure you are using the original USB cable that came supplied with the GoGear, and then try the volume + method again. If the volume + method doesn't work, then there is a problem with the USB port recognziing the device being plugged in - or, the player was physically damaged.

SOURCE: Delete songs from MP3

Try when plugging it in go to the start button.
Click 'Computer' and there should be an icon saying 'Phillips'.
Click and go into the songs and right click to delete.
Not sure if this'll help you out.

SOURCE: Phillips 30gb will connect to computer but wont sync anything

Make sure the hold/lock is not engaged
Try another USB port
Reset the player

If that fails:
Download the newest version of the Philips Device Manager:
www.usasupport.philips.com - change your country/language as needed
Enter in your exact model #
Click on the link for your exact model #
Click on the Software & Drivers section
Click on "Firmware Upgrade Software"
Install the new Device Manager
Open and run the "Repair" tab

If still nothing:
Disconnect the Go Gear from computer. Press the reset pinhole until the player turns off. Hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab. Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions.

After repair is complete, upgrade the firmware for this player. Will erase all the songs, but you should be good to go again.

If these methods fail, call Philips to see if you are still in-warranty.

Need to reset phillips gogear 2GB SA2627/37 as it displays PHILLIPS on start up & shuts down. On connecting to PC, it displays OK TO DISCONNECT and doesnt even recognized by PC as USB device.

Your player might hang up. Use a pen tip or other sharp object to insert the RESET hole gently on the side of the player and connect it again to your PC.

If it is still not recognized, your player may be at fault. Try the Philips Device Manager software and repair device with it.
Contents will be removed by using the repair function.
How to do it is described on the manufacturer's web site here:

Mp3 player not starting up

Try the firmware upgrade to see if it will relaod the ysstem files. Also, try the Sansa Recovery Too lfrom the sandisk website as a backup. Some players allow you to reload the firmware once a system file has been deleted, but others do not allow it.

Replace the display screen

Hello acid_hussain,

Sorry to hear about your MP3 player. Unfortantely, physical damage such as a cracked screen isn't covered by most manufacturer's warranties. The unit is likely repairable but you will probably have to pay for those repairs.

To get service you should contact Phillips through their website or take the player to a local consumer electronics store that offers repair servies, such as Best Buy™.

Best Regards,
Ken
