your watch is a chronograph or stop watch. the large second hand that is pointed at 12, it is the second hand of the stop watch, it moves when you press te upper right button and it stop on that button too. when it stops the lower button is the reset. i hope i had been helped you.
Well, thats a good watch. however, based on the conditions of your watch, probably, its battery is not dead. some of its mechanism were not in place or broken. Repairing it is advisable. Afterall it has no scratches like what you've said. So go for repair men!
The small seconds hand do not stop because it has nothing to do with chronometer. It is ordinary seconds counter and will move independent of chronometer.Click on my profile (escapement), then click on Tips and Tricks. There you will find link to Tag Heuer watch manuals. It might lelp you. Rate me, please
pulling the crown out to position 2 and pressing button to zero it out one increment at a time is the way to do it do touch the watch hands. Works on fossil watches as well as tag watches
japgap has it pretty much right .... Start by pressing the Mode Key. It should change the mode (probably to stopwatch first on first press, alarm if Mode Key is pressed again, then time if pressed a third time). (NOTE: pressing the Mode Key to get action isn't about the length of time pressing the key, its about getting a "connection" when pressing!!! The sport watch doesn't have the greatest quality construction so a simple press does not always make a connection).
Once in the time mode, the seconds will be blinking, press the Reset Key to move to minutes and Start Key to advance the minutes, then Reset Key to move to hours and Start key to advance the hours. Mode Key to get back to regular operation.
1. set mode to CHR with the bezel fully in. 2. pull bezel out 2 notches. This will set all (or most) hands to 12. 3.press A (top button) repeatedly until you get MIN in the left window 4.turn the bezel to move the min hand forward. 4a. turn the bezel several clicks in quick sucession to get the minute hand to continue to move in the forward direction. This will "drag" the 24 hr UTC hour hand froward 1 hour per 1 revolution of the minute hand. if the minute hand stops before you want it to repeat step 4a. continue till the 24 hr UTC hour hand points to 24. 5. to stop the minute hand turn the bezel backwards 1 click. remember however to approach the 12 position with the minute hand in a clockwise direction.
If you have your instruction manual it should tell you how to reset the chrono. i have the Luminox 8352 and it says to pull the crown out to the 3rd position. then press and hold both the start/stop and lap/reset buttons for a couple of seconds. you'll see the second hand rotate, then you can single click the start/stop button to manually move the second hand 1 second, or you can hold it and it will continue move for a longer period until time desired. if you need to adjust the other chrono hands, click the lap/reset button and then you can click the start/stop button again. repeat for the minute/hour chrono hand. when you're finished push the crown back in. it might work even though it's a different model, worth a shot? hope that helps. these are really great watches.
