Refrig constantly runs and is only semi cool, same w/the freezer. Left out in a cool room in the winter and stop running when it was cold. Started refrig back up and now runs constantly w/out cooling

Kenmore refrig runs constantly. Freezer foods are semi hard/soft. Have already moved control to coldest setting. Refrig is the same. Refrig was left in a cool room for part of the winter. One day, refrig stop running, I unplugged and plugged back in in the summer. This is when I realized refrig was not cooling properly and CONSTANTLY running Fridge and power were working fine, then I turned it off for about 10 days. Plugged it in and turned it back on and now freezer works, but fridge won't get cold. Help.

Vegetables in crisper are frozen, as well as liquids in bottom 1/2 of fridge door. The fridge & freezer temp controls won't adjust to our settings. Also, we're getting ice, but no water will dispense.

The freezer cools the refrigerator, so you actually get very cold air passing from the freezer to the refrig. The air from the freezer enters the refrig on the top and falls to the bottom where it is drawn back into the freezer. The temperature of the refrig is regulated by a thermostat and a fan that runs when the thermostat calls for cooling. If the refrig thermostat is faulty and causes the fan to run more than it should, there will be a freezing problem in the refrig at the bottom because cold air falls and warm air rises. If the refrig is thermostat is calling for cooling constantly, this will take more cold air from the freezer than is normal. Your freezer temp might be higher than normal and the refrig will be colder then desired. If the fan from the freezer is running constantly I would suspect a bad refrig thermostat.

Frigidaire refrigerator with a broken freezer

He is correct. The temp in the refrig controls how often and for how long the refrig runs. Lets say the temp in your garage is 34 degrees, and you have your refrig set to 36 degrees: The refrig will never run, the fresh foods section will cool to 34, and the freezer will warm to 34. Even if the temp is 45 in the garage and you set the fresh foods to be 33, the refrig will not need to run long enough and often enough to keep the freezer temp cold enough. You will most likely need to have the ambient room temp at least 55 degrees to get satisfactory refrigerator performance. Insulating the refrig will not help. (by the way, outdoor beverage vending machines use an internal heater in cold weather to prevent liquid beverages inside from freezing,..... so using that info, you could put a low wattage heater in your refrig to make your refrig run enough to make the freezer section work. The %&#* with that, just move it into the house!)

After emptying the ice bin on 2 year old side frigidaire, the freezer is OK, but the fresh food side has stopped cooling. Any ideas?

check that the fan in the freezer is running,it circulates the cold air,if it isclose freezer door, open refrig. door lookto the upper left you will see where the cold air enters the refrig compartment and should fill air coming thruough vent this is a motorized unit and they sometimes fail, also check the return air hole located at bottomof refrig.sometimes get blocked by plastic bags etc

Our ge refrig runs constantly, freezer is freezing but the refrig is not cooling. I cleaned the dust and dirt out of the bottom and back of refrig.

See if the fan in side the frig is working It mite be on the freezer side If the fan is not working it will not blow the cold air in to the frig side
