SOURCE: Bluetooth problem
if you have a built in bluetooth connection, then what may be happening is that the pc is turning it off in a power saving state if not being used, the same thing sometimes happens when a bluetooth dongle is conected to a usb port, you have to unplug and plug it in again to get it to connect as the pc doesnt recognise it. Try turning it off by the function button then on again, or check your notebook settings in the power options, as they are able to turn both bluetooth and wireless connections off to save power.

As an alternative method (though no a easy method)
if photo are very important then you simply copy those photos in
phone memory, and then you able to send those photose via blue-tooth,if not purchase a card reader to read the memory card
if you have data cable then nothing to say connect it to usb port run the pc-suit.
