SOURCE: clothes dryer ran ok an hour ago - not now

you may have a bushing problem on the drive motor due to dirt or flint. you can check that by removing the belt and try rotating the motor manually. see if it is easy to turn or not.check also the bushing if you can move the shaft sideways..if it has a slack then its a bushing problem. replace the drive motor.

Huebsch 30 BG propane dryer.. Flame stayed on, but dryer wasn't turning. Burnt all the paint on top of dryer. Would have burnt the place down, if not noticed.. What could be the problem?

Possibly the belt broke and the drum wasn't turning, or the motor failed. Either way it is dangerous and would have set the clothes on fire. The should be something that turns the gas off it the drum is not seen as turning!

Contact the company direct. They need to fix it under a recall situation as it should never happen.

Hotpoint Tumble Dryer keeps pausing

That sounds like an overheating problem. When the machine pauses, the blower fan stops running and that allows the heat to build up enough to trip the high level thermostat. You can test this by running a cool cycle.

Drive belts don't squeak because they are made of rubber. Things that do squeak are rear drum bearing, front bearings or drum slides, idler pulley wheels or the tension springs.

The machine needs a full strip down, cleaning, de-fluffing and lubrication. Also check the exhaust hose and the grill outside except it appears you have a condensing dryer. Make sure that unit is clean..

My Zanussi TCE7124W is not running cycles properly and the clothes are still wet at the end of a run

The filters are clogged.
• The condenser is clogged.
• The water reservoir is full.
• The selected cycle is not suitable for the laundry.
• Insufficient drying time.
• The laundry has not been spun properly.
• The low-temperature function selected.
• Excessive laundry load.
• The dryer is not correctly installed.
Also, check the heater elements.
For the movement, check the drive belt has become worn or snapped. To test your tumble dryer's drive belt, we recommend you manually spin the drum. If it is stiff and difficult to move, the drive belt is ok, if it is easy to move, there's a good chance the drive belt is the fault.

Eaton viking dryer

in 2020 I had a few repairs on my Eaton/Viking dryer ED314W429 1 - replace heater coil - replaced with GE coil kit P# WE25M27K
2 - replace snapped belt - replaced with part# WG03F00846
It takes a while to figure things out DIY, however it's running again..
This link helped me a lot with repair of the element. When I had to replace the belt it was 10x faster due to experience.

Let's keep these old simple machine running if we can! Cheers Gerald Calgary AB.

E15 error code on hoover tumble dryer

Controls
  • The control unit on the tumble dryer will vary among different makes and models. The main purpose of the controls is to allow the user to select the drying cycle. You can choose the time and temperature setting on most units, while others allow custom settings such as moisture sensors and end-of-cycle alert signals. The controls may include a dial or a touch panel and LED screen display. Some tumble dryers allow you to independently select the appropriate time for the load you are drying and separate programs for temperature.
Motor
  • The motor inside the tumble dryer spins the basket to allow the clothes to tumble while being dried. The tumbling action allows the air to pass through the clothing to dry them faster. Heating laundry that is stagnant will likely dry the clothing on the outside while leaving damp clothing inside the pile. The constant motion, along with the heat and steam created by heating the clothing, reduces wrinkles. The motor also powers the fan that delivers the heated air to the basket of laundry. The heater can be an electrical element or gas powered.

Eaton viking dryer model ED214W449 .Loud hum when you try to star

My Eaton Viking Dryer Model # ED214W449 was running, I heard a loud bang and realized the drum had stopped turning and won't restart. Is this a drum belt issue? Is it hard to repair myself. Where can I get the part for this. Thank you.

Clothes dryer

washer dryer and dryer ony machines differ in a huge way. the big diff. is the drums on each are completly different sizes. the conventional dryer has the bigger, giving better air flow and tumble to clothes. the w/d has a smaller drum thus less air flow and less tumble between clothes. the best way to see this effect is remove half the clothes after a wash and then select a drying cycle. u will see that by giving the clothes more room to tumble free of each other rather than tumbling in a large ball will dry them. washer dryers are really only a marketing tool.
