SOURCE: How do I plug my BA745 Boston speakers into a MAC

I have the same speakers. It should have two plugs, one green and one pink. the pink plug is for a microphone. On the side of the speaker with the control knobs, you will find a headphone jack and a microphone jack. Unless you plan to plug a microphone into the pink microphone jack on the side of the speaker, you don't need to plug in the pink plug that goes to the PC. This is basically a microphone extension cord that runs through the speaker cord. That's all the pink plug is for. The green plug, on the other hand, is for your audio out. take the green plug and plug it into your computer's head phone outlet and you're good to go. You can use the speakers with any device that has a headphone jack. Just make sure you use the green plug, not the pink plug.

SOURCE: will my boston accoustics ba735 speakers work with a dell laptop?

We also have a Gateway Computer purchased in 2001 with the Boston Digitanl BA735 speakers. We ran into a similar problem when we upgraded from Windows ME to Windows XP, with no sound after the upgrade. After consulting with computer stores and "Geek Squad", it was finally determined that Windows XP set the speakers for analog not digital. Once that was reset, our sound returned. Hope this works for you.

How do i connect the boston BA745 comp. speakers to my gateway desktop?

Assuming you have the BA745 2.1 speaker set up, all of the cables connect to the subwoofer and then to the computer or the satellite speakers (these are built into the speakers IIRC). Take the cable with the black box (2 pins) to red and green. The red and green plugs go into the matching color ports on the computer and the pins on the black end fit into the jacks between the those for the two satellites. Plug the single end speaker cable into the subwoofer port all the way to the right on the back of the subwoofer. Plug the wire with the two plugs into the matching color jacks (blue to the left, red to the right). Then plug in the power adapter cable in the farthest left jack and plug in the other end to a surge protected power strip (that is plugged in and turned on).

Go To:

Here you can adjust and assign (enable) these speakers. You may need to upgrade your sound card to support them, but should not need to.

I don't believe it is the speakers.
You need to reload the drivers for the sound card, then your speakers should work.
What brand and model computer do you have?
If it is a gateway, go to gateway.com, then drivers, then enter your tag number and all your drivers for your machine will appear. It's the same for all the other brands as well.

My computer doesn't recognize my Boston BA745 speakers!

look at

http://supcontent.gateway.com/support.gateway.com/s/SOUND/speakers/7003709/700370935.jpg

if its like that it should work. if it does not, test the sound out plugin for audio with some headphones... check that your master volume is un muted. check that plugins are inserted properly, if still no audio, click "start" right click "my computer" click "properties" click device manager"
and look at your audio area,,, if its all fine, no red or yellow little things beside your speakers.. your fine...

otherwise.. its probably a bad wire leading from computer to sub..

I have no sound

Yes you must have the correct drivers installed. If you formatted your drive, you will most probably have to download all motherboard drivers also
