Refrigerator Odor There is an odor, not due to anything leaking or bad food. The smells comes out of vents and when anyone opens the door to the fridge I can smell it and the odor has permeated all the food in my fridge. It's only 3 years old and I can't find an appliance repair person to help me. I'm so frustrated, baking soda doesn't work, plus it doesn't solve the problem. Have you ever heard of this or have any suggestions on how to solve? Thanks.

Remove all the food from the unit and clean it with a diluted chlorine bleach solution and let dry and then do it one more time. Also get a box of baking soda and put it in the fridge to absorb odiferous smells odors

Odor from under frig can come from the fresh food drain into the evaporator drip pan or from spillage of food under the refrigerator. If it is a high temperature smell, it can be due to accumulation of lint and dirt on the coils and fan under neath the refrigerator. All refrigerator need a yearly cleaing done underneath the refrigerator, both the floor and the components.
Hope this helps
the odors are normal for some new refrigerators, its due to the type of plastic used, let it cool and put coffee inside both compartments or baking soda as these 2 items will remove odors, after the odors gone continue to keep a box of baking soda in each compartment to control all food or plastic odors, this should help remove your odor problem
no refrigerant leaks have little to no odor and if it was leaking bad enough to smell it the unit would be out of refrigerant and not cooling...the problem sounds like gases coming off of a veggie of something un-covered inside the fridge--have you put any veggies in the fridge or freezer un-covered check real good if one or a piece of something has fallen behind something else where you cannot see...all else fails remove all your products from the unit and clean and get a box of odor control arm&hammer to rid the smell..as for a leak in the sealed system i think your just fine.
What does it smell like? Burnt plastic , mold , rotten food? Check gaskets and temp in fridge, food could be spoiling. It is tough to get serious odors out of fridges. Bleach, vinegar are good for killing odors. Check manufactures recommendations.
