No picture but sound works.....

I went to turn on my TV last night (Trinitron KV-36FS12) and there was no picture, just a black screen, though there was sound.  All the display and menu functions worked on the TV and I was able to pull up everything from DirecTV on the screen (channel guide, DVR list, etc..) but no picture.  I went to Video 1 to see if my DVD player worked and that was fine...picture, sound, everything.  Also Video 3 I have PS2 and there was a screen and sound and everything worked fine on that as well.  It's just when it's on TV mode I'm not getting any picture.  I unplugged it last night and plugged in back in this morning, however to no avail.  The TV is almost 8 years old.  Any thoughts or suggestions for me?  My email is [email protected] if anybody reading this has any ideas for me.  Thanks.
