I ran the diagnostics and it said I need to change the thermistor. I did and reran the diagnostics. It still says I need to change the part. Is there a reset or something? Or, is something else going on? Thanks!

SOURCE: KitchenAid ksrb25fkss01- fan runs, warm air circulates

Compressor change is probably more than you wish to tackle.
1) must be certified to work with refrigerant.
2) requires silver soldering and or silver brazing.
3) requires re-charging with refrigerant and this is critical and must be measured to the oz.
If it works fine when it re-starts we need to find out what is stopping the compressor. First guess is a defrost timer. The unit goes into defrost at pre-determined intervals, depending on the defrost timer. When it goes into defrost, compressor goes off, heaters come on, and a defrost cycle is initiated. Following this, the heaters go off, (usually by a t-stat and not time), and the compressor is allowed to run again. Changing the defrost timer, which is probably one of the least expensive components, is worth a try. No guarantee, but it is a better choice than the compressor. If the tech did any tests, did he say why the compressor was questionable? Since this happens once or twice a week, it sounds like the timer or at least it is coinciding with a typical defrost cycle. Here is a possible test, when you find it blowing warm air in the freezer, advance the timer 1/4 turn cw. See if the compressor comes on when you do this. That is probably more info that you were looking for, but this is worth a try.

How old is the unit?

SOURCE: I have a KitchenAid side by side and my icemaker is not working

Check the black 2" fill hose going from the top of the freezer to the ice maker fill cup , to see if it's frozen up . Also check the optics system for proper operation . Open the freezer door and the laser should flash 2 times , pause , flash2 times , pause etc. Close the flap on the left side and the laser should go off . If the laser does not come on when the door is opened , then the ice maker is in the harvest ( dump ) mode . If it stays this way , then ice maker is bad .

SOURCE: Evaporator fan was not working, so I replaced it

Hi, there is no reset switch. The original fan was not the culprit. The culprit will be the microcomputer(PCB). This board routes the start signal, and power to the fans and compressor unit. The initial intervals are set be the cold control device inside the refrigerator, and freezer. The Microcomputer has several relays mounted on the board. One of the fan relays have failed. This will require you to replace the entire Microcomputer. This will correct the issue. The part number for the replacement computer will be 4389211

It is mounted on the compressor platform, under the control board housing cover.

SOURCE: KitchenAid KSSC42QM The divider between the fridge

Hi,

I do not think my first attempt to help you went through, if this is a duplicate response I am sorry. It sounds like your condenser is overheating, this could be due to the coils being very dirty or the fan that keeps them cool is not running. The motor you hear on top is most likely the compressor that does the cooling. Remove the grille on top and look at the coils (similar to a radiator in a car but smaller) there will be a fan behind them that will (should) be turning. If the coils are dirty use a vacuum and brush if you have one to clean very thoroughly. I have put together some instructions on how to do this but it is for bottom compressor models, but it might help, I have attached the link to the bottom of this reply.

If the motor is not running you can see if something is caught in the blades stopping it, if it is clear and not running you will need a new condenser fan motor.

I hope this helps, let me know if you have questions.

Kitchenaid superba ksra22fkss00 side by side fridge. The freezer temperature too cold.

Even though the freezer thermistor passes the test, it's bad. The test only sees if the thermistor is open circuit or grounded. These thermistors can send bad information to board. Replace the freezer thermistor and I think that will solve your issue. Good Luck

Fridg side is not cold because of a thermistor not working and how many ohm by no's should be

You may could place the refrigerator into diagnostics if you could provide a model number. Every manufacturer has a different OHM reading for their thermistors. There is a chart but you need to know what model number you have.

Subzero diagnostic mode rE reads 111

I didn't think those fridges even have a 3rd digit to display that temp. I would say just leave the door open with the fridge running and watch and see if the reading comes up or down. If it is truly readin 111 degrees, then replace the thermistor, and cut out the connector and hardwire the new one in. They did corrode at that connector on the evaporator thermistor now and then, so just cut the whole thing out and hardwire it per the instructins with the new part

I have a GE profile fridge model # PFS22S1SBSS. My food in the fridge was freezing so I emptied the fridge pulled the back panel observed that the electric flap was operating by holding all buttons on...

I am surprised you were able to do diagnostics without the service manual or do you have one? I think you need to test each thermistor per test point on the motherboard. If the damper door is electric controlled then you must locate the thermistor that appears to be whacking out on you. My manual is about the only copy I have of GE's Artica/Profiles and I see yours appears to be bottom freezer. I think the thermistor is not signaling correctly and may be located near the auto vent.
