Black Cartrige Missing

Printer was working fine today, then I ran out of ink. I replaced both black and colour cartriges with the new (correct) cartriges. Now I get a "Black Cartrige Missing" error message. Did all the obvious things (taking out and replacing the cartrige several times, turning the printer off, trying a different new cartrige, ensuring the metal prongs inside the carriage are not bent, etc). I don't get this error message with the old cartrige (except that I can't print anything because it's out of ink), but I get it with any new cartrige I stick in.

Did you use a brandname ink cartridge - or is it a knock-off brand? If it is a brand name - then the cartridge is most likely defective. If it is a knock-off brand - some printers do not recognize the electronic in the cartridge and therefore don't see it as one being installed.

SOURCE: printer says right cartrige is incorrect

remove the cartridges and reinstall them back, turn the printer off , if that does not work, did you use a new original cartridge or a recycled cartridge ?, either way will trick the printer into the new cartridges, i, hope this solves the problem good luck.

SOURCE: remove and replace ink cartrige

  1. Write down the printer name and brand.
  2. Remove the empty cartridge and check the writing on it. If it has any bold and big numbers on it, write these down.
  3. Go to office supply store and give the clerk your notes.
  4. Make sure you get the right one and take it home.
  5. Check to be sure your printer is on.
  6. Open your printer's lid.
  7. Take out the old cartridge and put inside a small ziploc if you want to.
  8. Dispose of the old cartridge. Or if possible, have the cartridge recycled.
  9. Unpack new cartridge and place inside the printer.
  10. Print a test page.
  11. Reconfigure printer heads for best quality.

Assuming you have used a Dell approved ink cartridge the problem is most likely just a dirty print head. If you haven't printed for a while (which can be only a week or so in hot places) you may have to run the cleaning process 5-10 times or more before you start to see marks on the paper. This is typical of all ink jets that are not used regularly. If you can not get it to print or it will not get good enough to print you can resort to manually cleaning the print head with a qtip dipped in viniger which disolves most inkjet inks. It won't take very much to clean and it will print like new.

How do i trick kodak esp office 2150 after refilling black ink

completely agree with you jeff! I think it just runs off of the date you put the last printer cartrige in or how many prints you have ran with it in. theres a little "microchip" thing on the front of the cartriges that if you switch that out with one off of a new cartrige, your old one will still work fine. but then you only have a certain amount of time/prints that will still come out of your new cartrige if you switch it back after the old cartrige is depleted. If you even deplete the whole old cartrige before the printer decided that the chip on that one is too old or printed too many pages...complete BS, I dont think I have ever been this mad at company before, and I will never ever buy another kodak product again!!!

My Lexmark printer 1270 only prints in black and white although the colour cartriges have good ink levals. This has just started happening, it was happily printing in colour not long ago. Many thanks.

Jast go to print option. Then Mantainance. Then try to print a nozzale. If all the colour comes out properly ( with out dot or misline), your cartrige head is goog for print. If not, your printer cartrige head is block. To reque from the problem follow the proces:
1. Unpluge colour cartrige.
2. Try to clean the cartrige head with soft cloth and amonia gentaly.
3. Try to out the ink through the head nozzale pore by using shaking or gentaly swape by soft tissue.
4. Now put the cratrige head upon a soft tissue. ( ink will comes out). If not, repit stage 1-4 until ink come out.
Thank you

No black ink print. Prints in light blue

Cartriges have a shelf life. It's printing in blue either because it has dried up or is out. Different cartriges have different timelines but if you haven't been using the printer often, it could have dried up or is simply out of ink. I would suggest first to try cleaning the head of the cartrige where the ink comes out with alcohol and a Q-tip and then if that doesn't work, buying a new black cartrige.
