SOURCE: Amana refrigerator top freezer going out; water under crispers
Hi jimorso,
Your theory is correct. You will have to defrost the drain and clear any other obstructions to get the water draining correctly again. To do this you will have to go in through the freezer. Remove the back panel by removeing the 3-4 screws that hold the back wall in place. You will see the drain directly under the coil. It will be a small hole and it will most likely be covered with ice. YOu will need to defrost all the ice and clear the drain. If the coils are frosted up you may have other issues like a defrost heater that is bad. The defrost heater is directly under the coils and you can simply check for continuity through the heater.
The drain is sometimes difficult to defrost, I use a towel to dry water, and I use cups of hot water to pour onto the ice, then just dry up the mess as you make it. You can also rub the drain with your finger to help defrost. I also use a flexable ruber hose to blow air into the drain untill the drain is clear again. If you have any other questions please just ask. I hope this will FixYa. Please dont forget to rate me.

SOURCE: Water leaking under refrig
there is a drip pan under the freg. check the drain hole at the buttom fo the freeze side. make sure it is open.
you can get to the drain pan via front grill. pull the front grill. and you will see the drain pan.
SOURCE: Do I need to empty the water from my drip pan
the pan is there to catch condensation from the compressor during the refridgeration cycle. the water build up to me indicates one of two things. Either the refrigerant level is low and it is freezing up then thawing, or if you have ice or water dispencer it could have a leak in the line. the only thing other than that is a leak in the magnetic door seal or other insulation causing condensation. hope this helps
SOURCE: WATER LEAKING FROM THE FREEZER INTO REFRIGIRATOR
Remove back wall from the inside of the freezer. Some models you have to remove the floor first, others you don't. There will probably be a lot of ice so have plenty of towels and hot water ready. It may take quite a while to get the ice to melt completely, but in my experience it is ALWAYS ice. Just keep refilling the pan with super hot water, and poke into the drain hole with a cable tie or pipe cleaner. When the water feels like it has gone cold, wipe it up with a towel, and refill the pan with hot water.
SOURCE: Water dispenser drips how can I fix it?
There are two possibilities. The water control valve is leaking while off or the water has air bubbles in the supply line. If you just recently changed the water filter and the air has not been completely purged this will cause a drip until the air is out. You can also remove the water line at the control valve and see if it continues to flow. Just us care by unplugging refrigerator first. Be right back with part numbers, Sea Breeze
