Quick change clutch is locked

Push the rubber sleve off the drill bit and up the drill bit then the plastic ring. release the clip around the spindle. Slide the clip and chuck sleve forward and remove the ball sitting in the spindle. You should then be able to pull the bit from the machine. If it does not want to come hold the bit in a vice and tap the spindle off the end of the bit using a suitable punch. Rebuild chuck in reverse.

Do all sds drills have chisel function?

The SDS designation relates more to the type of chuck on the tool for the bits than to the tool/drill itself. There are both chisels and drill bits with SDS-Plus and SDS-Max shanks, SDS-Max being the the larger of the two. As far as the tools go: Demolition hammers will only hammer and can only use pointed chisels, scaling chisels, scrapers, etc, not anything like a drill bit that requires spinning to work. Rotary hammers can hammer and rotate the bits. Rotary hammers have a selector switch with two or three positions; one for hammer only for the above demolition bits, one for rotary hammer for use with carbite tipped drill bits, and some have a position for rotation only. The rotary hammer is a more versitile tool but more expensive because of extra workings inside.

On makita hammer drill, bits fall out of chuck. How can I fix it?

This is an SDS chuck and uses ball in tapered slots to hold the bit - if the inside of the chuck is dirty (dust+grease) it will not operate correctly. Use a cleaning degreaser spray and wash the inside out whilst moving the chuck outer body up and down. Try your SDS bits in it and if it works okay - spray some WD40 in it and then keep clean and re lubricate it regularly after use - hope this helps

How do I fit drill in this machine please? DEWALT D25113K D25113 3 MODE SDS

Youcan only use standard drill bits with the use of a chuck attachment with the SDS type bayonet. These hammer drills use an SDS type drill bit which just pushes into the fitted chuck and are released by pulling back on the lock mechanism on the chuck.

I own a hd50spk hitachi...what drill bits are universal across the brands?

there are 2 main types of hammer drill bits, standard and SDS.

standard bits go in a regular style chuck hammer drill

SDS bits have 2 grooves and 2 elongated holes on the shaft which snap into the chuck

I'm not sure which type you have, but to answer, the 2 types are universal within their types

Hammer drills types

Two drive systems are available on both the hammer drill and the rotary hammer models: 1. SDS (or Slotted Drive System) bits for hammer drills/rotary hammers allow the bit to slide in the chuck and enhance the hammering action of the tool. For most applications, these bits provide plenty of torque. 2. SDS Max bits are similar to SDS bits, but have larger shanks and come in larger sizes than SDS bits. These powerful bits are useful in industrial applications.
