We did one load of laundry with no problems. Started another load, luckily I was still in laundry area when at beginning of cycle water started leaking out of the detergent tray area. My husband is checking for a clog right where tray was. he has removed the tray and is trying to find if something is clogged in that area.

We had the same problem, It was a pair of sock stuck behind the seal in the drum blocking the water inlet to the drum. Like others we managed to get our fingers between the metal of the drum and the rubber seal near the detergent dispensor to remove the sock.

The washer will not start the wash cycle when there's no enough water inside the tub. The washer will flash an error code if it has a display or light up a status indicator to indicate the fault code depending on the model number of the washer. Please specify the model number of the washer for more specific advice. Disconnect power to the washer prior to servicing to avoid the risk of electric shock.
Regarding the leak problem, a broken drain pump usually causes the problem; to check, remove the screws attaching the bottom of the lower front access panel to the cabinet. Once the screws are removed, slide the panel down then out to remove it from the cabinet. Fill the washer with water and locate the leaking part.
Also remove the top panel by remove the screws attaching it to the rear of the washer then slide it rearward and lift it off the washer. Check dispenser hoses for any leak during the fill cycle.
Specify the model number of the washer and let us know the source of the leak for further and specific advice.
