its probably the game you are playing, probably the servers for that game is no longer running. try to check if you will be able to play online with other games.
Go to Wii Options in the bottom laft corner - Wii Settings - scroll over one page to Internet - Connection Settings - pick yout access point - run Connection Test then tell me what pops up.
The click is the autoprotection relay that should be allowing the amp to stay up. Try this... turn the speakers off if you can, or disconnect them then try again. Safety shutdowns are usually either heat or short circuits in the output stages. It doesn't stay up long enough to get hot so...
If it stays up withou the speakers on then the problems is probably external and easy to isolate.
I had the same problem. I still can't host a game on COD but it stays connected with a good connection. Go to the COD web site and get the port ranges you need to open. In your router there is a gaming and app. tab. that will keep an open connection to COD constantly. You can contact the manufacturer about getting in to your router.
Actually you need to have bought the original "The Sims" game, this being because the game's code looks for a registration to determine whether or not you bought it... Of course you can illegally get the real game, but that is highly unappreciated. Find a "The Sims" game in an exchange shop or on eBay for really cheap, and that should be the start point you're actually looking for.
