I dropped my Sony Triniton KV-34 XBR 800 on the floor - face down, and now have a really odd waive of rainbow colors that look to waive across my screen. Any suggestions or ideas on how to fix this?
Sorry your tv is distroyed
you need a new screen
this happen to me
wave of colors that won't go away
Hello, my TV was dropped (rolled forward) and experienced the same problem. The shadow mask has shifted. In general this shift should be localized to section of the screen (usually the top). I managed to fix the problem using an array of magnets. It took a few days to arrange the magnets to compensate for the shifted mask. I used 10 strong small circular magnets. The picture has normal color but has some nonlinear streching (barely noticable) near the top of the screen.
Hope that helps if you need more advise try me at [email protected].

Hello,
I am very sorry to inform you that there is nothing you can do to repair this set that may be cost effective. When the set was dropped the shadow mask inside of the tube has shifted and that is causing the colors to be off on the screen. The shadow mask lines up the red, green, and blue guns in the tube and only allows those colors to light up from the corresponding gun.
The only way to repair the set would be with a new picture tube. The replacement of the tube can sometimes cost more than the set initially cost to purchase.
I hope this helps to some extent.
