Have a 20 HP twin cylinder KOHLER engine on CRAFTSMAN mower.

I was just mowing along and it started losing power and popping. I shut it off for a few minutes to let it cool off and it will restart with no problems, it's still not running right and making an occassional popping sound. I have since installed new spark plugs, still same problem. Sometimes it seems as if it is running on one cylinder. My next thinking is that it is probably the ignition coil. Was wondering if anyone else has had this problem ? Any ideas/help will be greatly appreciated because the grass here in KY is growing so fast with all this rain, you can almost hear it growing, Thanks in advance I HAVE SAME PROBLEM WITH CRAFTSMAN TRACTOR 42" KOHLER ENGINE. HAVE REPLACED PLUGS, FUEL FILTER, AIR FILTER, DRAINED GAS. STILL SAME PROBLEM. WOULD APPRECIATE ANY HELP OFFERED!

Did you check your gas? Generally a loud popping sound indicates water in the fuel. If there is one carb hitting and one not, the one not hitting may be full of water. Drain the carb bowls. Drain the tank. Clean the spark plugs and try it.

If you are able...have someone do a compression check on the engine. Usually if a mower is loosing power and it is a twin cylinder engine, one of the headgaskets may be blown.

How do I connect wiring on Kohler CV16S motor to craftsman mower that had a B&S YBSXS.7242VFmotor?

You need to know which ones are the kill wire, charge wire and starting wire for both side of the harness and make you own connector.

Have a 20 HP twin cylinder briggs engine on Yard Machine mower.

Sounds like it might be the air breather filter, remove it and see if it works
