Our refrigeration works for 12-48 hours then shuts off. I unplug and replug it back in and it will work again for 12-48 hours. What do you think is wrong? It is a digital thermostat control fridge not a manual turn dial

If this is a refrigerator with an electronic panel and controls, it could be that the electronics involving the thermostat and its settings are not performing properly and shut down. When you unplug and replug unit, that is like re booting a computer and the unit will work again till next shutdown.
Tried unplug, replug it back in half or an hour later. Most of the time the the compressor will reset and kick in than it work again. This is a temp solution only, because most of the compressors in frig have this intermittent problems will died again because of over heat the design 24/7 plugin doesn't help especially continue of power to it.Replaced the frig if it more than ten years or replaced the compressor if less.
did you unplug it it could be that the freezeer tubing is fozen need to unplug it off and if you dont open the door leave it off so it can defrost for 12-24 hrs then plug it in just dont open the door so your food could be safe after that i had the same proble again unplug leave off for 12 to 24 hour best at noght before you go to bed then replug it will take a few owers to get cold again but that schould work
check the start relay located on the compressor when this gets fur in it it tends to burn out much quicker then without pets. This is the plastic piece located on the compressor that turns the compressor on you would also need to pull the unit out and take off the back panel and clean around the compressor and start relay area this way as well if you have never done this there would be alot of build up if you have any further questions message me back and please remember to rank how this opinion has helepd it allows me to help others in similar situations p.s remove the start relay and shake it in your hand if you are hearing something jingling on the inside of the relay replace the relay Thanks Rick
You don't say how long you have to unplug it for. If you wait a couple of hours allowing the compressor to cool, then plug it back in, you could have a compressor getting hot and shutting off.
There is a fan at the compressor that helps to keep it and the condenser cool. (you can normally feel a little warm air coming out the front at the bottom) remove the back of the refrigerator (at the bottom)
If the compressor is running - the fan should be running as well. check the fan to make sure it is running. if not- check to make sure there is not an object or trash of some sort stuck in the fan. The fan motor could also be bad. .
Be sure to re attach the back of the refrigerator. it has to have it on so that the air flows properly across the compressor to keep it cool.
I believe it may have been laid down during transport. Leave it unplugged for another 24 hours and allow the compressor oil to return back down to the compressor. This is a very common problem if laid down on side during transport. After this time replug the power cord and listen and feel to insure warm air blows from bottom of refrigerator and cold air in freezer. The oil is to thick and heavy to be pushed through the capillary tube. Just be patient and not try to push the time getting it to cool again as the compressor will continue to overheat if oil remains in the cap tube. Thanks Sea Breeze
I have the Vintage Keeper Odyssey. I had the same thing the other day. Unit is 7 years old. Vintage Keeper web-site suggested to unscrew the control box and remove. (The box with the "Set" and Up and Down arrows. Unplug the wiring and sensor on the back and then plug back in. Plug in the unit and text. It took my "AL" away.
Unit doesn't cool very well. A coolant leak may be my problem. I was looking for solutions other than buying a new refrigeration unit.
