SOURCE: water leaking from bottom of side by side refrigerator

The is a fairly easy way if you have a strong stomach.

On the back of the refrigerator, you will see a plastic drain line running to a pan underneath the box. This is the drain line for the evaporator condensate water. It is stopped up in the refrigerator section of the box.
Here is the tough part...Pull the hose out of the back until you can wipe it off with a clean towel and blow hard through the hose with your mouth.
By the way ...take your food out of the fridge...you will blow some pretty disgusting stuff out of the drain and into your desert if you don't. This will cure your leak.
Pssst...you can used compressed air if you are a wuss! lol
Good luck

SOURCE: FREON

the backpressure or suction pressure varies with the load and the ambient temoerature of the unit. best way to make sure that your charge is correct is to pull refrigerant out and evacuate aand weight in new refrigerant with a scaloe.

SOURCE: How do I install compressor for amana refrigerator

Hi.The compressor motor is connected to the refrigerant system, which is not user serviceable. It will be necessary to have the compressor serviced, or replaced by a qualified technician. During this process, the pressurized system will need to be re pressurized. This will require special tools, and regulative equipment, as well. This can be very dangerous, and that is why I prefer to give proper advise on this type of repair. Kindly, contact your nearest service tech.

SOURCE: Amana Refrigerator Model # ARB 2214 CC with leaking ice maker

Good day,
If the fill pipe that fills the ice maker is in it's proper position, then it is a defective water fill valve located in the bottom rear of the machine.
After harvesting the cubes the ice maker mechanism continues to rotate and turns the water valve on for 7 seconds. If it does not shut off smartly then it can cause the well to overfill, and flow water into the bucket.
Do not let this go. A small leak could turn into a major overflow, even overnight causing serious problems to the machine and as I have seen the entire house.

I have an Amana B136CAR3 refrigerator that needs a new compressor and start relay.

First, I'm not a Amana tech.
* Check your warranty and call for service. (which you already have.)
*** the following is for information only ***
* Here in the manual you can clearly see this is not a home unit. The compressor (I haven't confirmed this yet) is normally located at the top of the unit as is with most commercial display units.
https://www.repairclinic.com/UserManual/bfaf5fcb2e384aa8aff02eb6af470aaf/Amana-Refrigerator-Repair-Manual-B136CAL1-P1197503W-B136CAL3-P1197501W-B136CAR1-P1197504W-B136CAR3-P1197502W-B136CAL1-B136CAL3-B136CAR1-B136CAR3.pdf
* You will note (if this is the same as yours) that the bottom is all the way to the back wall and flush with the floor. Meaning there is no compressor at the bottom. (the repair man should know this).
* Look above item 1 (page 3) above it is a vented fan cover (the one with all the slots or grills) This is for the compressor fan and condenser fan. You may have noted warm air blowing from the top of the unit when it was working. You may have noted steam blowing out too. That is the condenser drip pan boiling off the excess water collected. (Defrost pan at bottom is drained to the floor drain pipe.
* The repair crew should be able to access the controls and compressor from the front.
* It is possible that you have a split system (depending on space available above the unit like a false ceiling. This is to allow hot air to exit the unit and out the building. Space may not have been available and the compressor package was moved to another location (usually outside wall mounted or in attic).
* Sounds like the unit was flush mounted to wall (flat with wall) and not ment to be removed. Frequent service (6 months) is required for all commercial units. The contractor would have known this and accounted for frequent access to components.
* If they really need to remove the whole unit (and access these buried components) then make sure they put it back with the idea that you may have to do this again with the next service.
* Final, Contact Amana directly to get more information. https://amana.com/

Goodman/Amana air handler freezing up and not cooling home. What could be causing it?

Hi,
There are two things that cause freeze up's...

Low air flow...

Low freon...

First check the filters, the blower , and the air vents to make sure that the air handler unit can move enough air...not enough air across the coil, the coil gets too cold, ice forms....

The low freon problem will require professional assistance...
For the system to be low there needs to be a leak...the leak must be found and repaired or the fix will only be temporary...
To do this the system refrigerant must be recovered, the leak fixed and then the system vacuumed and recharged...

One other thing....outdoor air temperatures under say 65 F can also cause freezing.... but I am assuming that you are above that if you are running your A/C system.

I have an Amana bottom freezer refrigerator, model no. BX21V1C,it stopped cooling and freezing. The relay was replaced 6 months ago and now it has happened again. You can hear the click and buzz of the...

Good day,
Sounds as if the relay has failed again. ....or when relays start going bad, it could be an issue with the internal part of the compressor.
But the relay approach should be your first step.

Fridge wasn't cooling but freezer was working, now both aren't

Hi,Your husband did good job, after cleaning and vacuuming, did freezer (bottom) have excessive ice?, if there's excessive ice in bottom, after cleaning, you have a defrost problem, but if there're no ice in freezer after cleaning, you got freon (gas leak) , there's a condensate loop, that passes through ref. body, from compressor that naturally develop, freon leak after few years, by rusting, normally it can be by- pass. vacuum and refill with freon, if there's no freezing, but compressor running, you'll need a mechanic, you got a freon leak. good luck.

How do i charge a AMANA Ptac with R22 freon

Also, if you get caught working on ANY freon based refrigeration without a license, you could face a large fine. Freon isn't $3 per pound anymore, it's quite expensive and you don't want any of it wasted. Have a licensed technician do the work. He will know exactly how much refrigerant your system needs, and he can remove what's there and add to it.

How do you add freon to an outside air unit. Amana

You should have a qualified technician do that for you. If it needs refrigerant it has a leak. that should be fixed before adding new refrigerant.
