Drum not turning despite belt ok and motor ok, lots of sediment from drainage pipe

Hi - I have a bosch maxx for kids - second hand. It worked ok the first time I used it. Then the next time it seemed to wash ok but then stopped - I could still rinse and spin using the separate rinse and spin cycles though. Now I can't even wash. The water seems to go in but the drum does not start to turn. I have checked the belt and it is fine and the motor seems to be working. There seems to be an awful lot of sediment coming out of the drainage pipe - pumping out ok but full of sediment. Any ideas?

Check the pump/impeller for blockage.

I have a Bosch Maxx Classic front loader about 15 y.o. Somehow gravel ended up in the system, and it eventually killed the motor. I replaced the motor, so now it spins, fills & drains water.

Gravel can't kill the motor. The motor is only connected via a drive belt. The only thing gravel can do is damage the pump as the gravel and water runs past the pump impeller!

If it doesn't turn in wash (low speed), but it does spin in spin mode (high speed), my guess is the the belt needs tightening or replacing.

No drum action from my Bosch Maxx for Kids

Hi, How old is your maxx? Have you ever experienced this before?
This is quite a common problem and can be sorted quite cheap to. You will need to take the back off depending on which model you have to access the motor! Take the motor off and then we can sort the problem.....

My bosch washing machine takes in water has no flashing lights drains ok but the drum does not go round and so does not wash my clothes why

Hi,
Does the drum turn OK by hand with the door open?
Does the motor sounds like it is turning - a variable speed humming sound?

If your answers to both are "Yes", then the drive belt may have broken or just fallen off. This will be visible after disconnecting the power and removing the top cover. If there is lots of rubber dust inside the machine and on the floor, the belt will probably need renewing.

If these suggestions do help you solve the problem, please give my reply a rating to help others judge my knowledge / guessing skills.
If they do not, please hold off on the rating and add a comment with more details so I can try to help you further. Cheers, D

Hoover Tumble Dryer 5030D

I picked up a second hand unit which had the same problem.
I removed the back (philips head srewdriver and 1/4 in socket) and vacuumed all the lint from around the motor, and the vent at the back.
The motor drops our easily for cleaning (1 screw). Make sure the belt tensioner goes back in the same slot.

Mine now works as normal.
