Yes, its absolutely possible. You can connect external speakers from analog output of TV. Even you can use AV receivers available in the market which can be used to amplify OR process the tv sound with latest digital processing techniques, it would be very much pleasant than the sound from tv.

How do i get sound to external speakers sharp aquos?

You have to connect the TVs line out to any external Amps' line in input terminals, using an AV cable. The external amp: will then act as an outside audio amplifier to TV. Electro help

I have a sceptre flat screen i bought 2 years ago (40") the sound just quit can hook up external speakers?

Read the owner manual or check all the inputs on the rear to see if it has those connections---it is also possible a surround system routed from a box (cable or sat) might work to bypass this issue.

and do not forget to check in the set menu that the speakers did not somehow get switched to OFF.

No sound on my sharp aquos lc-45gd4u 45 in

Assuming you are using the internal speakers, check and make sure you have the audio enabled. Some TV sets have a option to turn off the internal speakers. Also make sure mute isn't turned on. If you are using external audio setup, double check your connections.

I'm trying to connect external speakers to a Sharp Aquos LC-C3234U TV but not having any success. Can anyone help?

Apperently this tv has a history of sound board related problems. So if you are trying to connect external speakers because you have no sound from the set then you still will be sound-less. On the other habd if you just want more sound then I would suggest using a surround sound system which will readily connect to your set.

No volume on 52 inch aquos when volume is pushed a picture of a mini plug shows

Check your external speaker jacks for a foreign object that maybe a child could have put in it or if you using external speakers check these for bad connections. The set thinks that you have a jack plugged in so it is either a bad jack, or a bad audio card or something is causing the jack to short itself like a piece of metal in the jack. Also check you audio settings so that you have the tv's speakers selected and not an external jack.

I have a sharp aquos model number LC 60le81oun how do I set the settings to input 1 ?? I am trying to hook up external speakers and can't get sound if I hook it up straight to the tv but will get sound if...

Input 1 is an INPUT so you can't connect external speakers there and get sound from the television, which is what you are attempting.

Your two choices are the 3.5mm minijack hole that says AUDIO OUT terminal, which is under the Ethernet Terminal and the DIGITAL AUDIO OUTPUT terminal, which is under Input 7. If your external speaker system does not have a 3.5 mm minijack input to accept the 3.5 mm minijack cable then this isn't going to work. There are cables where one end is a 3.5 mm minijack and the other end is an RCA so you can try that and it MIGHT work. Other than that the Sharp televisions are known for not carrying sound over the fiber optic cables consistently so even if you bought a fiber optic cable and connected it between the digital audio output and a speaker system or sound bar there is no 100% guarantee it'll work. It is worth a try anyways.
