Pressure washer - no water flow

Craftsman pressure washer model 580.752000 I changed pump oil and engine oil before start up. It has been working fine for years but this year I hooked water hose to it and cannot get any water flow out of pump to purge air before I start up engine. Wand and wand hose are not the problem. I cannot see any obstruction on inlet hook up. It's like something is not allowing water to work it's way through? Can you help?

Craftsman 2200PSI pressure washer, part #580.752700 dies when trigger off.

NEVER start an engine on a power washer with pump attached. You will damage pump and get no or very little pressure. Replacing pump only fix. Pump for this washer about $49. Check spring on carb for throttle open/close

Location of pump oil input valve

Hi
Im surprised that this model pump has a oil refill. Most pumps of this size arent refillable. This looks to be a pump made by FAIP. Its an ok pump but I would recommend using it until it fails and then replace with an AR RMW pump. Much easier to get parts for. Here is a diagram of your pump...The oil refill plug is on the side of the pump...that is located under your engine. You want to get the recommended oil for your pump. Most pump oils are 30 weight non-detergent but these small pumps take an oil specific to only them. So follow your specs...your diagram is here http www searspartsdirect com Craftsman Power washer Parts Model 580752330...
and your manual is here 580752330 CRAFTSMAN PRESSURE WASHER Manual
Hope this helps

Water flows thru the pressure washer pump and out of wand, when I start the motor flow stops. I have a craftsman model # 580.752060 I've taken pump apart and there are no obstructions that I can...

Hi,

Let the water run for a longer time. "Walk" the hoses, from the faucet to the pump and then to the nozzle, holding the hoses up to displace any trapped air in the lines through the pump and out the nozzle. What it sounds like is that air is reaching the pump. When it does, it cavitates, and no water can be pumped. Tighten all of your hose fittings securely. Try holding the trigger down while starting the washer. It may be easier with another person helping.

Craftsman pressure washer with honda engine. low pressure and volume on high pressure setting. lots of water volume on low pressure setting. Screens not clogged.

Sounds like pump is not making pressure. Thats why you get flow, but no pressure.
If it sat for awhile, check shaft connection to pump. Sometimes the impeller or shaft will shear partially due to corrosion when stored. Seals on pump valves could be gone too. Get an exploded diagram, usually from owners manual, easily found for this model. Parts list should have "pump repair kit" with everything needed to bring it back to life.
You and a friend put it on the bench to work on it and save your back. The pumps are pretty easy to take apart and put back in working order.

Mi-t-m 4003 pressure washer has no pressure

You did not let it freeze did you?
If so, pump is probably bad. Other than that, check for obstruction in intake screen, make sure water is flowing through unit before pulling trigger. On gas models, water must flow before starting engine, otherwise pumps seals will go bad, because water keeps the lubed/cooled.

How much oil in pump...Craftsman 2200 PSI pressure washer

Hello:
Best to use NON DETERGENT 10W30. Be sure you fill the reservoir only 1/3 to less than 1/2 full.

Engine appears locked up as it won't wind up to start

Try turning the water almost off at the faucet and then loosening the water feed hose connection where it attaches to the washer. Sometimes the pressure in the pump is so high that it will effectively lock the engine and you need to relieve the pressure to be able to restart it. Once it does restart, get the water flow back ASAP as the water is used for cooling and it needs to be there quickly.
