SOURCE: Direct TV remote "tv input" button won't work with my Sony TV

I came across this looking for a similar solution for my Samsung TV, and I found the solution on ehow.com. Apparently after you program the remote for your TV you have to hold mute and select again until it flashes twice then put in 960 to make the remote control TV input too. Note you're remote should be in TV mode while you do this. It seems silly that the DirectTV guy wouldn't do this when programming the remote.

You can't. All televisions need a remote control. How can you have a television without a remote, they all come with one! They are readily available online, Amazon, eBay or from Walmart

I own a sceptre model #NBNV93GA TV and lost the remote. When I turn on the TV it only displays "enterpassword input is blocked" do you know how to fix this without having the correct password?

As long as no password was set try entering all "0".
That sometimes works.

You may have to open it to see if the line fuse that the power cord goes to is good or bad.

Coax & composite input picture washed out (way too bright) vga input (from laptop) is fine. are these inputs on seperate circuits? Is it most likely main board? TV is Sceptre X370BV-FHD

yes these input are separated circuit/ then link to the video processor. verify your input connection /component /and try connecting your tv directly on cable input and try switching your input on the tv whit remote //if that not work; that could be the switching input circuit inside the set...

Scepter X37sv-Naga LCD

The Sceptre TV do use the Sony codes. However, the cheap universal remotes do not have the buttons needed. The Volume Up/down and channel up/down are controlled with the circle of buttons (arrows) in the middle of the remote.
You can get an OEM remote from Sceptre. They still have them available. Sceptre is in California.
