The shaft of the scooter is attached to a gear or cog and this turns the engine to start it. The teeth of the gear are still there otherwise the kickstart would move without resistance. It sounds as though it is jammed or stuck in a position that won't allow it to move. Could be a siezed up engine, but more likely it is just stuck within its mechanism. Unfortunately this will require you to remove parts to check, realign or replace the faulty part. How you do that, I don't know without it being in front of me as I have never worked on your model.
Hey Barry, a knocking from your engine IS NEVER something to be ignored.. BUT, if you do it will go away..WHEN IT BREAKS and your ENGINE QUITS RUNNING!!!! Take it to a qualified professional!! please....!!
Rock the bike gently forward and back while shifting into fifth gear. Now push the bike forward while sitting on it and see if the rear tire turning will turn the motor. If not, your motor is stuck. If it turns, you have a kickstarter issue. Many people never learned to depress the kickstarter down until you feel it engage before kicking it through. Kicking from the top slams the gear teeth together and causes damage. You may need to pull of the engine cover to determine if there’s damage.
check to see if anything is stuck in the path of the roof when it is going down. It is most likely jamming up somewhere or your motor that lowers the roof is going bad
sounds like you have something lose or broken in gearbox..or clutch or kickstart workings.....i would not ride this bike till you know for sure whats up & its fixed!!....1st thing to try is take clutch cover off & inspect to see if you can see anything broke ..this does need pulling down to sort as the bike may well do again when riding it...you may even need to pull the gearbox.cluster out/in bits to check..this means engine out & pull in bits......
Take the case into which the kickstart goes in, I believe that your kickstarter gear (the small gear found at the other end of the kickstarter, behind the case) has gone out of it's position, thus locking itself in position.
