Long story short, I ran my Ryobi trimmer for 5 min with no oil mix ... The engine seized. Is there any simple methods to unseize the motor???
Ryobi trimmer was "parked" for 4 years, now it has no spark. ????
No there is not. You will need to tear it down and try to get the Piston to turn and oil very well. You might be able to get it to turn it depends on whether the rings are stuck and have welded themselves or not. Sorry for the bad news
I love the Ryobi 4 cycles just for the fact that they dont need mixture so you are not having to mix two different fuels. Plus they run great and are powerful. I own only Ryobi stuff except for my Stihl chain saw.
Yes I saw those reviews, it is due to people not letting it warm up completely before trying to run it wide open so then it falls and then they write bad reviews. With all ryobis you need to let them warm up to a good operating temperature before letting loose on it. Usually about 45 seconds to 1 minute of nice idle works great

That's what I figured ... Worst part is ... it hasn't run it two years I cleaned it, replaced the spark plug, purged the old fuel ( put in straight non mix ), and got it too run ... I was only going to let it warm up and then it seized. What do you think of the Ryobi 4-cycles ??? At least it doesn't require a mix.
Thanks ... I was worried about the reviews on homedepot.comhttp://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stor... .... Lots of people are saying it stalls
