I can't wash immediately because the "wait 8 hrs" button won't turn off

have you tried to unplug it and wait 30 minutes before plugging back in

Thanks for using FixYa. Error code 4h means 4 hour delay start which means that the dishwasher is in delay start mode and has been set to 4 hours. You can either wait for 4 hrs or to start it immediately press the cancel button to cancel the delay start option. After this program the cycle and options and press Start again as the dishwasher will not start the wash until it reaches the delayed hour i.e. till 4hrs. If after 4 hrs still the light blinks and it wont start then you'll have to replace the control panel. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Could it be you have turned on the delay? It is waiting to start? I would unplug the unit for few hours sometimes things reset themselves.

Sounds like the belt that spins the washing drum is slipping. It my need to be adjusted or replaced, or try washing a smaller load of laundry.

Hi unplug machine and leave for ten mins this sometimes clears any faults on the computer.

You should contact GE or qualified appliance repair center to be looked at professionally.

My EWD1477 was doing this a year ago and I fixed it. Then it started doing it again a month ago and I seem to have cleared it again.

Firstly, remove the drain hose from where it is inserted into a laundry sink hole to make sure it is not blocked or sealed in with sludge.

Secondly, make sure the machine is empty of water and clothes and then turn the machine to off with the Program Selector Dial. Then turn off the power at the socket and remove the power plug and leave for five minutes.

Step 1: put the plug back in and turn the power back on.

Step 2: turn the selector switch to the right (Whites/Intensive). The green light of the Start/Pause button should be flashing and the green lights on for Prewash/wash, Rinses and Spinning. Don't press any other buttons or change any other settings.

Step 3: press the Start/Pause button and wait for the machine to empty any excess water. Press it again immediately after you hear water flowing into the machine OR two audible clicks. The machine is now in pause mode with the green light of the Start/Pause button flashing. Only the green light on the Prewash/Wash button should be on. Leave it in pause mode for 30 minutes and then press the Start/Pause button to recommence the cycle.

Step 4: If the Start/Pause button begins flashing, water stops flowing into the machine and the three green lights mentioned above are back on, turn the Program Selector Dial back to off, wait 10 seconds, and repeat the process above.

Step 5: If when you then turn the Program Selector Dial to Whites/Intensive and hear the two audible clicks, immediately press the Start/Pause button to set the machine in pause mode. Wait 30 minutes. Then press the Start/Pause button to recommence the cycle.

Hopefully the cycle will run without a problem.

had the same problem but 7 or 8 months it started had it replaced and 7 or 8 months on new again same problem, a speed wash which is 36 mins takes 1.5 to 2 hrs

timer is not working properlly, replace it
