How do I reset the millisecond hand used in the stop watch function on my nixon Ride SS watch?

I just reset the chronograph second hand to the 12 at the top of the dial but now in the small dial directly under the 12 which counts milliseconds as the stop watch is started resets every time to a little past the 1 on the dial opposed to the proper spot at the 0. How can I fix this?

Try this:
Resetting Chronograph Hands:
Note: Some Nixon watches come equipped with a "screw-down" crown; the crown must be unscrewed by turning it counterclockwise before it can be pulled out)
1. Pull the crown all the way out to position 2.
2. Push the crown in slightly to position 1.
3. Push top pusher button to advance the second hand to line up with the 12:00 position
4. Push the crown back in. (Make sure it is screwed in if it is a screw crown)

That's easy. You need to calibrate it. In normal time mode, pull the crown out all the way and then use the pushers to step it back to the zero position. When finished, push the crown back in. You can also calibrate the sub-dails in a similar fashion.

SOURCE: Small dial on the watch face that counts the minutes won't return

Check in the instructions if there is a way to re-sync the hands. For some models of watches the hands are able to be calibrated.

It is also possible that the watch has a problem. Either the dial hand is not properly seated on to its axel, or the drive gear that is under the axel skipped a tooth. You will have to find someone who can service watches to fix this for you.

No need to go to the shop as you can reset chrono hand yourself. Read manual and follow instructions. If you don't have manual, try this: Pull out crown and then push the button and hold it. If this does not work, try push and hold the button whilst other one is held pushed. In short terms - try to use as many different combinations as you can and you will find which way is right.

Stopping after 12 or 24 hours

Read your manual carefully and you will notice that the big, tall seconds hand is part of chronograph function. So, by pushing upper button you are actually engaging chronograph. This puts more strain on movement gears and consumes more battery power. When your watch is in normal timekeeping mode, the small seconds hand is counting seconds, not the big one which should be steady pointed at 12. I would recommend to put a new battery in your watch, reset it and start using it as described in users manual. You can download users manual here: http://www.oakley.com/customer-care/support/watches

Cant set the second hand to move

The "second" hand on this watch is not actually a 'sweep' second hand, as on other watches.
This is a timer dial. ["Stopwatch 1/5 Second Hand"]
To start/stop this, use the top button (Button "A").
To reset this dial to 12 O'clock, use Button "B", after first stopping it with Button "A".
The "second" hand is the small dial at the 9 O'clock position.
In actuality, you 'could' start this and just not stop it...  Then it would function as a "large second hand". That would be up to the owner. (it might use more battery power though... ?)

When I reset my chronograph, the second does not stop at the 12 but stops about 4 tics past 12.

pull out the stem to the first or second posistion and use the top or bottom buttons to zero it out.

HI, i have a gucci watch YA077310 and i dont know how to set it. also the second hand does not work.

To set the time, you normally pull out the crown and rotate it. The main (large) second hand is associated with the chronograph function so is stopped at 12 when no using chronograph. There should be a little second hand in a little round area on dial that is moving.

Nixon super rover..need to know how to reset the chronograph

Pull the stem all the way out...like your setting the date. Then hit the upper button and that will move the hand 1 second at a time until it gets here you want.

Chronograph hand not resetting to 12 o'clock

for my victorinox, the crown out one position and the reset button (lower chronograph button) changes the minute hand and the top (start/stop button) does the 10th's of a second...crown all the way out and top (start/stop button) does 30 second intervals for the minute counter.
