The icemaker on this unit has overfilled the bin since day one. The ice spills out onto the dispenser drive housing at the back of the bin. There is no guidance in the install manual for this problem.
The metal off/on arm may be disconnected. A full bin should keep the arm in the up position and shut off the ice maker. Remove, then re-insert the metal arm in the back of the ice maker control head. Make sure that a full bin of ice activates the control arm. You may need to buy a replacement arm that is longer so that the ice catches on the arm.

Find the manual for the ice maker - it may be in an envelope on the back of the refrigerator. Inside, there should be instructions for setting the timing for the water fill valve. Your water fill valve is open too long, reduce the open time for the fill valve.
my icemaker has a wire overfill sensor which shuts off the icemaker if there is too much ice in the basket. If this wire gets pushed up it will stop making ice until level lowers OR manually lowered.
Good day, The ice maker has a switch internal, that turns the water valve in the bottom rear of the machine on for 7 seconds after it harvests a batch. That valve must close smartly, otherwise it will cause the cavity of the ice maker to overfill, and cause it to overfill. If it does harvest cubes, then that is your problem. Replace the water valve. It's a very common problem.
Good day, The most common reason is the ice maker is overfilling because the water valve in the bottom rear of the refrigerator leaks on the off cycle, and needs replaced.
Make sure the machine is level and the ice maker is mounted in the freezer properly to keep it level.
Also, make sure the fill pipe going into the back of the ice maker is properly positioned.
The Ice maker body could have failed but is very rare.
I have had a similar problem several times. What I have found is that the ice tray coating has begun to flake off. Then, the ice sticks or partially dumps. Next more ice builds up and when the valve opens the water runs over the partially emptied tray and spills into the bin making "icebergs". The remedy is to replace the tray or if that is not possible, then, the whole icemaker. In fact, I have one down stairs to put in tomorrow. They don't seem to last more than about 4 years or so.
mine was overfilling because the ice was getting stuck on the way out. So some stayed in the tray and when the water would refil, it would overfil and go over the stuk cubes. leaving it to overflow to the bottom and freeze like yours.
