How can I fix the canon mp470 print head when I just insert a new cartilage. No matter what I do, the printer error stating I didn't install the print head.
Service Mode This printer has a service mode for service-related settings and for performing test prints. The operator panel buttons are used to enter the desired service mode. Service Mode Operations 1) With the printer powered off, hold down the resume button and press the power button. 2) While holding down the power button, release the resume button and press the resume button twice in succession. Now release the power button. The indicator will blink in green and remain lit in green. 3) Select one of the following service mode functions by pressing the resume button the specified number of times. Press Resume Indicator Functions Zero times Green Power off the printer 1 time Orange Service test print 2 times Green EEPROM information print 3 times Orange EEPROM initialization 4 times Green Waste ink counter setting 5 times Orange Destination settings 6 times Green Print head deep cleaning 7 times Green CD-R test print 8 times Orange CD-R print position correction (horizontal) 9 times Green CD-R print position correction (vertical) 4) Execute the function you have selected (except for model setting) by pressing the power button. The printer will switch itself off after performing the function.

The print heads nowadays are on the ink cartridge itself, check to make sure that A) there is ink cartridges and B) they are properly inserted.
Failing that take the power out for 2 mins and try again, I'm sure its a loose cartridge though :)
Some printer brands have a cute scheme that reads a "new" cartridge as good, but the refilled one has a small fuse link that is burned out by the printer. Try factory new cartridges. Unplug the printer power for a bit to reset the printer.
Operator error. Press printer's RESUME button. If this doesn't clear the error, cancel printing and turn the printer off and then back on.

The Print Head in your printer is physically damaged and so even though it is present and installed it will not be detected by the Printer, you need to purchase and install a new print head for your printer.

Try keeping the paper only in the bottom tray (there's a tray in the bottom) Try pulling any paper out of the top and just close that top tray. Open up the head so that u can see the ink cartridges and turn the printer on and off and maybe it will center itself again. If it's still not working (even if lights aren't red and print head wont align in the center) try manually moving the head back and forth like 18 times so you can lubricate that rail in the back that's holding it. After that, re-turn it off and on again.
