How to change to Region 0?
1.Switch on the DVD player without any Disc inside
2.The screen should display 'no disc'
3.Eject to open the DVD tray
4.While the tray is open, press the 'STOP' button then hold the 'ENTER' button for 5 seconds
5. A new screen will appear (Regional Management Test Code) which will allow you to change the region code using the up and down arrow keys on the remote control.
6. Change the code to '0' and press the PAUSE key to exit

Just bought two of these for the kids because they they could be made multi region however this operation doesn't seem to work, build date says sept 2016 could the software have been changed to stop this working? Anyone had any luck doing it a different way, remote has no numbers so that's not an option.

Worked perfectly for me, thank you!
nope not for me
No does not work
Worked like a charm for me!
Just received my set today and used this fix to change it from Region 5 (India) as shipped, to Region 0 and was able to play my US (Region 1) and UK (Region 2) DVD without any problem!
Perhaps all those of you reporting failure are from North America, because I remember reading somewhere that this fix doesn't work on sets factory set to Region 1?
But for those in India at least, you can safely buy and then make the set Region free!
I have an LG DVD player DP132 and it worked easily. =)
This fix worked perfectly and easily! Thanks! Follow what Larry Lirex says just above. You do not need number buttons on your remote.

SOURCE: How to setup Region code free for DVD LG DV 487
Power on the dvd player without any disc on it.
Press the PAUSE button and then the following numbers
3 1 4 1 5 9
Then you will be asked which region you want to set up.
0 = All regions. 1 = Region 1. 2 = Region 2 etc.
Then press pause again.
Then power off the dvd, and then turn it on.
I just did it with mine that was setup to only reagion 4 and couldn't watch region 1 dvds.. I set it up to = 0 (all).
Hope it helps.

it depends on what region your player is, most likely you need to unlock your region code(if there is an available unlock for your player) if you want to play that disk. but it simply means your dvd and your player is not on the same region

Usually answered in minutes!
I actually solved this fairly quickly by reading lots of posts and trying different things.
I burned an ISO which I booted in the drive. This gave me an option to choose a new region and save it. So suspect it was 0.
After that a Region 1 disc played perfectly.

I also used AnyDVD to make a region 1 drive appear as region 0. Then I copied the DVD with CloneCD and it changes the copy region.
No me aparece ninguna pantalla, realizando los pasos que mencionas, acaso hay otra manera?
