The lock works fine except the keypad doesn't light up. The interior LED works fine as well. Any suggestions?
If this is a battery operated lock then the backlight doesn't stay on (otherwise it will wear the batteries out). To make the keys light up when you want to enter your code you have to push the lock button on the keypad first. If the keypad light has never come on then open the door and manually lock the interior lock then press the keypad lock button then the above instructions will work. This is the solution I got from Kwikset customer support and it worked for me. Hope this helps you.
Well, this simple info did get my keypad light to work again!
Now, does someone have a solution to the inside LED not lighting up?
Finally, the right answer!!
You da man/woman bc205. Spot on!
Didn't work for me.
It worked for mine. Thanks a lot bc205! Before reading your suggestion, I had spent 30 mins waiting for Weiser support & no one answered after 2 attempts. I would not buy another Weiser if that is how their support is.
It worked! Thank you!
Wow... that worked! Thanks so much for posting this solution.

You may have a kink in the tape inside or the connection fingers (tiny ones) may not all line up. Have a looksie
Tried 1st answer and did not work so I tried the 2nd answer and sure enough one finger was bent. I got that fixed and it still didn't work so I tried the first answer again and it worked so it was both answers combined
